who runs the food outlets at KMS 1 Month, 1 Week ago
something i noticed at the wba game other nite.

there was 3000 rovers fans in the stand and only ONE food outlet open.went down at half time for a chicken balti pie
and gave it up due to size of ques.

so went down about 3mins after 2nd half started, all ques had gone but staff behind counter were pulling all the shutters down.was lucky enough to get served.

this got me thinking what on earth happens to all the stock that is unsold?

instead of pulling all shutters down at once why not leave one open while staff are out back cleaning up,also would it not be a good idea to have a heated trolly doing the rounds around pitchside behind addvertising boards before and during 1st half, half time and second half.

ok its not as if rovers could pay billy sharps wage bill on the pitchside takings but at least it will give fans options during the game to purchase some scran.

surely it must be a goer

The food at the Keepmoat is a disgrace, i`ve had a couple of burgurs from there and nearly broke my teeth biting into them. I wish we had the old burgur man like we had at Belle vue

Outside contract....company called EMC

They provide the catering and conference facilities for the Stadium

I've worked with them on numerous occassions and they are excellent to deal with

seem to recall the food outlet in mainstand at BV was still
open close to final whistle of games, and they was doing a roaring trade albeit they was selling stock off at 50p each
which i think was half price.

seen lads leave ground with 2 or more pies to munch on leaving BV.

food for thought eh

What do you expect ? It's convenience food that comes ready to just heat up. It's not like they have a raft of Chefs behind the scenes making 1000's of burgers, hot dogs and pies every matchday is it ?

Their corporate catering etc is first class

I had a frozen burger bun last year too, its disgusting.

There werent a raft of chefs in the pre-fab shacks at Belle Vue but they managed to serve up fantastic burgers, hot dogs and pies in the main. All we get now are a load of migrant agency workers on minimum wage who look like they havent got a clue where they are never mind what theyre there for.

Implication being that for us masses, it's crap. And it is.

We keep hearing how wonderful the Toppings pies are. Local maker and all that. Well ??

PLUS. Once again, rip of prices. Yes I have a choice, but a pie and a pint or burger etc. is all part of the match day experience.

So if, Joe Bloggs Burger Co set up a stall on each of the concourses, who would do the best trade ?

Say no more !!

Maybe they should stick to doing Coporate food only then.Other companies can provide the service for the fast foods at other grounds so why should we accept shite at ours?It was usually decent or very good at Belle vue?

Of course i'm not a Director of the company.

What i'm saying is the burgers, hot dogs etc will all be pre cooked and then frozen. All they have to do is stick it in the oven to heat up. I'm not defending the food, persoanlly i've never had anything to eat at a home game so can't comment. The problem may lie with the quality of the supplier. Again I can't comment.

When you're buying masses of the stuff I guess it has to be cost effective. There will be an obvious mark up to the consumer.

As for the frozen burger, once bought a burger at Port Vale from a van outside the ground when I went to watch the Owls. Looked great, all freshly cooked.....until I noticed that was on the top, the underside was still frozen. Human error of sorts.

As for out of date stock, well yes that's unforgiveable.

One of the few times I've bought anything was at the Masters after the end of last season, got my lad a cheeseburger picked up a sachet of tomato sauce opened it squeezed it onto the burger guess what, it was half bloody frozen!!!
ffs frozen tomato sauce!!

and the cheeseburger was shite.

Their corporate stuff may well be ok, but the stuff dished out on the concourses is total utter garbage and really needs sorting out

GM Mark

sorry but in my opinion It's attitudes like yours that allows these companies to get away with selling over priced pre fabricated crap to us."Excellent to deal with" what defence is that???? There is no exscuse at all, while i expect to be robbed blind in this day and age at least 95% of other grounds food is edible,i refuse to buy it on principle.

As for the corporate side,i can assure those who thought its just your average punters who get sold such dross that's not the case.As someone who spends about half the matches in corporate hospitality at the Keepmoat we call the food "strike it Lucky",as you are lucky if its hot, your lucky if you get everything at the same time and if it tastes of anything other than slop you think youve won the holiday to Disney...!!

We have brought this to the attention of the club on a number of occasion's as have a number of people over in corporate but sadly they dont seem to give two hoots once they have your money, and it pains me to say that..

I had a burger last season after rushing straight from work and the burger was that overcooked it nearly broke my teeth, surrounded by a frozen bun.
There is simply no excuse, human error my arse! Human lack of any attention to detail, human I don't give a fook, human if I poison them whatever is more like it.

Re:who runs the food outlets at KMS 1 Month, 1 Week ago
for the record my chicken balti pie and 'carrot theres no coen
bovril' or should i say just bovril was ok for me.

the pie was not frozen as it was hot,if owt too hot but no complaints.

bovril was hot and taste was bovril taste.

for life of me cant recall the price.

but like i said i find it daft when near enough 3000 seats have been taken in one stand that there is only ONE food outlet
open to serve that amount of people.

do the powers that be seem to think since its a friendly fans will not want to eat.
