Should there be a transfer type window for managers - if you sack a manager outside that window you are then not allowed to bring one in until the window opens up again. Would this give more job security to managers and make poaching of managers a little more difficult and make chairman think about when to change the manager a bit more instead of the knee jerk reactions that we have seen in the past? It all seems faintly ridiculous to a sack a manager 4 or 5 games into a season, cite footballing reason for the dismissal after the team has won 4 nil.

I know in Italy, if a team sacks their manager, they cannot hire someone in a job at another club within Italy. When Luciano Spalletti was sacked a few seasons ago after only 2 games, he was prevented from going to another Italian club. He ended up at Zenit St. Petersburg. As for his successor, Claudio Ranieri, he was out of a job at the time and therefore able to fill the vacancy.
