Diode and Gomiz
« on August 07, 2012, 07:36:20 am by 1879Rovers »
These were apparently the two trialists who scored against Denaby.

Diode apparently playing tonight according to Denaby report

http://www.denabyunited.com/

Anyone heard of either of them?

Diode- does he have electric pace?  :coat:

Actually, the report says his brother has just signed for West Ham. That "brother" will be Mohamed Diame (ex Wigan) so it will be Diame, not Diode.

Do I get the impression that Uncle Willie has been thumbing through his contacts book again? Though at the moment I'd be happy if we signed a couple of Martians tbh!

Former Lens and Almeria midfielder Bedsente Gomis and  Babacai Diame, it does look like Willie is on the scene.  :)

Good, if we can get a good player or two in who cares what the source is?  I'd be quite happy with a couple of international players if they're good enough.  It's about the player being good enough.  Last season players like Robert, Fortune, Bagayoko (until he got injured) added something i thought, much more than one or two others anyway.  But it's about getting the right ones in and I think Saunders would be keen to learn from that aswell.

I await the usual complaining though, but I'm willing to give any player a chance.  I mean we've had plenty of useless English players in the past afterall, the nationality makes no difference IMO.

They are on trial therefore no different from Quinn, Hawley and Morgan Smith. It's up to them to earn a contract by showing what they can do, the difference from the Illunga's of this world is that they are young and hungry looking to earn the big bucks in England rather than someone who had done it and already made their wedge. I have no problem in players using us as a stepping stone as long as the toll they pay in both performance and transfer fee benefits us.

Good, if it's true it's the best news all summer for me. The experiment didn't work but so what? To do so now but keep within the wage budget would be a godsend.

The fact they were on trial with Salford doesn't fill me with confidence. However, i'm guessing we are at a stage now where we need players in, and who they are or how good they are isn't really relevant.

...or going on trial at Salford was to be able to be seen by the many Premier League club scouts in the area?

What are you implying that some clubs watch othe peoples trialists so as not to alert opposing opposition that the said players are on their radar.........thats brilliant!
