According to local journalists on twitter. I've only been on here sporadically over the last week or so - is this old news??  :saywhat:

This is getting beyond the joke. Our failure to tie up contracts is now costing us. What the hell is going on?

That can only be bad news, lessons need to be learnt here, lets hope he's the last target we miss out on.

If it is due to the stand off between the club and the agents then we've strongly overestimated our position on the deal.

Maybe we are on the verge of signing a much better player in the same position?

  we really need some sort of explanation as to what is going on, the usual i.t.k's have been very quiet this year.

Answers needed now please. A player who has trained all summer with us who had "signed" pending compleition of paper work is pinched by our nearest local rivals. Not good enough Rovers. No more propaganda - the truth please.

I have now watched this guy 4 times and thought he was garbage. I feel there is more to this situation then we think. Being linked with Leon Barnett may have forced Mvoto out?

Normally you'd assume "his wage demands were too high...contract length too long...got a better offer from a bigger club....etc".

But, he's signed for Barnsley on a two year deal so I'm not sure they apply.

Another iron in the fire perhaps?

Why say he has basically signed then? Dickov said it was just paperwork holding up the deal

Not normally one to moan but I'm concerned now about next weekend. We just don't have a proper squad and unless Dickov and Ryan seriously pull something out of their arse I just don't see how we're going to do well.

July 13th, DRFC Official Twitter Account:
"It has been agreed to sign Mark Duffy and Jean Yves M'Voto. This should be completed next week."

They broke the bank for shackell so maybe the same has happened here

Agree RedJ.

I'm afraid to say it, I have been as patient as they come with regards to news coming out of DRFC this last few weeks, but this is ridiculous.

Less than 2 weeks before we kick off and now looking desperate for players to fill the gaps in defence, let alone the GK and Striker situation.

Hopefully someone better lined up then, if not and the club actually wanted to sign this guy they look a bit stupid now.

Is it because we don't want to pay agent frees? It will be cheaper to pay the fees and stay up than lose the players and get relegated. Better hope this doesn't happen with spurr

You'd have thought Financial Fair Play wouldn't allow that.

What's more is players and even clubs can now hold us to ransom knowing exactly this.

As long as it didn't just come down to we wouldn't pay the agents fee and Barnsley did

Financial fair play would enable them to offer him an awful lot more than we can

Worrying. I didn't rate him but the implications of this are very concerning. Whether he was good or not we've missed out on a major target, to our local rivals, 2 weeks before the season starts. Who else isn't signing? What happened to PD wanting his squad ready 4 weeks before the season?

Don't Barnsley have £3 million from that youngster from their academy they sold to Everton and a million from a decent cup run? I've also seen that Patrick Cryne's court case has ended and he's been cleared, maybe he's opened the purse strings too? They've also reported a profit for the last few seasons so well within the FFP rules. But after all that I doubt he's hardly broken the bank though or will be a first 11 contender, it'll be interesting to see what the views of JR and Dickov are regarding this transfer.

They made a healthy profit on Shackell and didn't break their wage structure according to the CE at the time of his sale. Bought for £400,000 sold him for over a million after something like a season.

A risk worth taking, let's hope there's some lessons learned. Shackell's hardly pulled up any trees since.
