I'm not going and I'm reasonably happy with the direction the club is going. At least it'll free up a space for someone who is less so.

I'm confident the board are monitoring PD's progress and will do the right thing at the right time if they have to.

I also believe if a manager is set a series of targets within a budget, he should work within those parameters without knocking on the owners door every 5 mins. Ultimately, he is accountable for results, not the board.

If I was going tonight and got my chance to ask a question it would be.."Some people are judging the success of Club Doncaster on the results of the Dons. Can you tell us what is the measure of success and how is it progressing?"
yes I hope there monitoring pds progress f**k the pie situation

I thought it was him, Vicar.  Couldnt be sure.  He was sat near you, so you'd have got a better look.

I remember he took a can of coke off me at Darlington away in 1991 as I "could have used it as an offensive weapon."

OK then....

These sort of meetings are good to let off steam for fans who want to, no matter what the board or manager say, somebody won't like it.
Actions speak louder than words, although we all have a moan, we still have a club to support, we are in a good league, yes i want us to get promoted, as i think if we can get up the club can become even stronger.
More fans will watch, more shirts will be sold, getting promoted is positive in every way, except once you do the fans want a decent amount spent on players.
Our fans, the majority that is don't expect big amounts spent on fees to get players, wages are hard enough to find on our gates, i have little moans here and there about the board, but looking at what they put in they are trying the best they can to give us what we all want, Promotion!.

I don't believe for a second they are happy about being in this division, but they realise things could be much worse, i am still not convinced about Paul over the period he has been in charge.
I would like to see us looking in non league, abroad whatever, and taking chances on players to improve and sell on, a club of our size really needs to sell a player a season for a good sum, the reinvest it.
Football is about narrow margins, a couple of one nil wins and everybody would be saying it was a good start, Paul's job is to get a squad together that reflects him as a manager, in the end results determine whether he is seen as a winner or loser, that's football, it's brutal!.

You're right Sammy, it is about small margins.

There are still hundreds out there like us, who are not convinced about PD. Some will let results speak for themselves and a few pledge not to return to the KM while he's in charge.

In my view, we could do with a fresh start to clear the baggage, but it's not something the board can do willy nilly.

The next couple of games will see us towards the 10 game mark. If we're behind where we need to be and performance levels drop to PV standards then enough is enough.

I couldn't make the meeting but what were the main points covered?

Was there an impression that the owners are right behind Dickov and he's going nowhere?

Was Dickov defensive or not flustered by any criticsm?

Indeed, was there much criticsm for him and the owners?

Ah never thought of that, thanks rob.

Quite interesting reading, I almost get the impression then that off the field things are good which is good news.  The board look like they back Paul which is good news for him. Were the fans quite vociferous?

Although I don't agree with all his views, got to give him credit for having the balls to make his point, unlike most keyboard warriors on here and other forums.

Apparently he did, from what I've seen Dickov didn't like it either. Dickov called him a nob after.

Fair play to Rupee for doing it at MTO.

I remember saints and greavsey back in the late eighties, on a Saturday morning/afternoon, they had received a complaint about Doncaster rovers fans chants and the language used, and asked us to tone it down, neither of them kept a straight face

My all time classic from Saint and greavsie was about a female goalkeeper letting in lots of goals - greavsie said he was surprised as she should be used to playing with balls

I heard Rod Marsh on t'radio yesterday. he was refuting the allegation that it was he who was responsible for the single best bit of sledging ever heard:

Rod Marsh, behind the stumps, welcoming Ian Botham to a test match wicket sometime in the early 80's: 'Hiya mate. How are you?'
Ian Botham: 'Too good for you lot Rod'
Rod Marsh: 'and how's the wife doing Ian? And my kids?'

I almost crashed the car when I heard that!

Mate of mine is a Blades fan and a Catholic priest.

25 years ago, he went to see them at Portsmouth and had the following exchange with a copper.

Copper: could I look in your bag sir?
Blades Priest: Certainly
C: is that an orange there sir?
BP: Apparently so.
C: what are you planning to do with that?
BP: Eat it
C: I see. Do you have any...err...coloured players in the Sheffield team?
BP: Excuse me?
C: You heard me son.
BP: Well, yes. Tony Agana and Brian Deane.
C: And were you planning to throw this orange at them?
BP:  Ah! Well, firstly, if I WAS racist, I'd throw fruit at a Portsmouth "coloured" player. Secondly, if I was racist, is probably have brought a banana.
C: OK, smart bas**rd. On you go.
