When was the last youth player who genuinely made a difference to a league team. I can't remember one!!

Didn't we originally sign James Husband as a youth player?

Following his goal yesterday, Liam Mandeville is the first player to score five goals in the space of four League games since Billy Sharp did so in November- December 2011.

Not sure what his goal celebration was all about but it looked like he was having fun.

In the post Conference era, the only young players and can recall getting excited about were, Craig Nelthorpe, Wade Fairhurst, James Husband, and oh, Andy Watson.

Other than Hubby, you wonder whether the others had what it takes between the ears to dedicate themselves to making it!

I hope Liam sets himself a higher standard. He's got a manager that won't let him forget he's not the finished article and will keep his feet on the ground.

Think his celebration was to do with a video what is going round Facebook where a young kid does the bottle challenge then celebrates with a sliding 'dab'. Maybe have to see it to understand, it's 2 weird things people are doing at the minute.

Any of our players caught dabbing should be fined a month's wages.

He's a great player. I am a bit worried about a large club putting in a massive offer for him though.

L**ds like nicking our players, hopefully the smell of the place is so bad, that Mandy would be put off going there.

I think he'll know it's too early to be seduced by the dark side. All being well he'll continue his progress during the rest of this season and come back for the start of next, a much better physically and mentally prepared player to make the step up to League One.

As I've said elsewhere, three of his pals are kicking their heels in the stiffs at Leeds. I'll bet they'd all rather be playing for a team that's top of their League.

Lots of young players follow the money, James Husband is a classic example.
There is a likely hood that Liam may do the same.
Too many young lads are happy to get big money but not play so often.

If he carries on as he has been doing we will get an offer but it won't be big enough to get him. Husband only needs a few injuries and he will get his opportunity. He had no choice when Middlesbrough came in for him he had to take the opportunity it offered.
Football is a career and it can be a short one so any player moving up can't be begrudged as long as we get a proper fee for them. By the way what do you see as a proper fee for Mandeville at the minute?, What is the figure that means it's too good to turn down?

I think we are getting a little carried away with Liams success. Good as he has been he is far from the finished article for someone to make a 7 figure bid for him in January, carry on as he has done and he will be a big money transfer, but not yet JMHO
