Thorstan Stuckmann
« on January 11, 2017, 12:56:13 pm by selby »
Has just been released from a short term contract in Scotland.
Would he be an ideal back up to Etheridge, he knows the club and most of the players, was well liked by most of the supporters, and would most likely be willing to sign a short contract.
Could be a good fit at the moment,an experienced cover, who long term would not stand in the way of our two young goalkeepers.

There are a few exceptions but, generally, never go back!

Can't see it, Ferguson made it pretty clear he didn't rate him so I doubt he would want him back, and I doubt Stuckmann would want to come back.

I am not advocating that we sign him, just pointing out that he is available.
It is a funny position the club are in with our own two young keepers, one has exceeded all expectations, while the other I would say has not fulfilled expectations.
It comes down to whether Fergie sees Etheridge as a long term signing, and has the confidence in him to play first team football now.
I think we need a goalkeeper to come in, who initially is willing to be a number2, but good enough to step in if things do not work out for Etheridge.
Like most of our supporters there is nothing more I would like to see than Etheridge to play well over the next three months, and fulfill his aim to have a career at Doncaster Rovers.

He still lives in Donny but I imagine that will be due to his kids being settled in school, very much doubt he will be coming back after the way he was treated. Plus would make us look very daft after paying him off the final year of his contract!

He still lives in Donny? Bloody hell, training must've been a bit of a trek. :silly:

He probably never bothered training with Partick, just got the train up on a match day to sit on the bench!
