Snow
« on January 12, 2017, 12:17:32 pm by acacia94 »
Don't want to get too Daily Express cover (Horror storms on the way..!) but local London radio is putting out weather warnings for this afto on Snow and freezing stuff overnight here. BBC weather looks cold but sunny for tomorrow and at face value OK – but Heathrow is cancelling flights on the bad forecasts.
Just saying. Small ground. Probably not 21st century facilities.... might not be plain sailing.

London weather warnings,  there not used to the white stuff down there. They will be working from home tomorrow  with an inch of snow. It will be on national news too

It's pissing it down at the moment (central London), so even if there is snow, it's unlikely to settle.

The snow is moving south following the rain - currently forecast for later today and tomorrow morning, but then no more after.

Why is it such a big thing (in the media) to have some snow in winter????

I haven't been but isn't Barnet's ground a new build? Hopefully the facilities at least are up to scratch, and the pitch should be kept in good condition.

Barnet's ground is very new, facilities for this level are very good. Wouldn't worry about the game being postponed. Definitely one of the most likely to go ahead on Saturday in the League

It's quite a pleasant place too. Good grub though it could do with more servers and a bigger service area. Big stand on one side, a brand spanking new one behind one goal, smaller stand on the other side and a titchy little thing behind the other goal. All very shiny and sparkly. Parking might be an issue if you're driving. Give yourself time.

Just watching BBC news. You'd think the country had had 5 feet of the stuff overnight,  not a light dusting.

Ridiculous.

We had a bit this morning. The nmain worry is if the dusting of snow covers the icy patches on the back roads.  Main roads all clear, just wet like rain..

Hardly national news though!

My nan used to say that. It could be like looking out at Siberia and she'd be adamant that "IT WON'T SETTLE" the moment she spots the first few flakes.

There was a VERY light dusting over the M62 yesterday and I got stuck behind two separate accidents. Took four hours to get back from Manchester. Why the hell do so many morons forget how to drive the moment there's a bit of winter weather knocking about?!

And why do these cretins switch on their fog lights so you can't see the brake lights come on when there's just the tiniest hint of a mist? Plonkers.

The easy answer to driving questions is don't drive in the snow if you're scared of it, some people may as well walk rather than drive the go that slow

Dunno... there's a bloody great pond in the middle.

Mind you, the same could be said for Farnborough's pitch at Cherrywood Road in the first leg of the Bob Lord Trophy final!
