Regardless of the result...
« on January 14, 2017, 04:34:32 pm by Mac the hooped man »
When are we gonna stop giving free goals away?  The forwards must go insane every time we gift the opposition a goal.  We can't continue to outscore teams.    Sooner or later this is gonna cost us....

Till then..     e I e I e I o, up the football league we go......

We've been giving freebies away all season , and almost every defender and midfielder has contributed .

No point worrying about the odd goal conceded when you score average 2 a game. Worry about it next season.

I guess that Barnet fans will no doubt be saying that their team gave us a goal or two today.
It is all in the eye of the fan whose team concedes a goal.

A gift for the backers taking Rovers to win and both Teams scoring. A miserable 3/1 today but £15 profit is £15 profit after all

I totally agree we r a L2 side, not prem all stars, but the ammount of times we needlessly bang it accross the back lines and Almost give it to one of their forwards is frightening. They must be under orders to do this but still it's  not good for the nerves.

Mac, this is just a trait of the modern game isn't it?
Most teams move the ball across the back line frequently in matches.
It is natural for us to feel nervous when our own team is doing it., just the same as we are nervous when we concede a corner or a free kick in a shooting position.

Fans of other teams will be nervous when they are in similar situations.

Donnywolf has made a good living this season on the strength of us conceding. ...I've followed the rovers long enough to know that when we let the 1st goal in that was game over now I don't worry about it we have goals right through the team ....just enjoy the ride while it lasts

Snap, not since penney have I thought conceding the first goal meant anything other than a loss. I expect 2 goals every game at least, if not 3. Fergie has build such a fluid team with finally an end product. Is it marquis, rowe,  copps on top form, willo grafting his butt off creating space? , who knows,  but the combination together. .  Boy is it successful  rtid

If Mason hadn't of been pushed by the Barnet player as he passed the ball the pass would've found Lawlor. Could it have been played elsewhere? Probably!, BUT the way we play, it might be Fergies orders to use the keeper.

The best thing to do as a full back is to play it forward as much as you can. He was just trying to maintain possession of the ball in his defence but underhit it and caught our keeper unawares. An error but not one that cost us.
He's a young guy learning the game and must learn from the mistake. If young players aren't allowed a few mistakes how can they learn?. We got away with it today i'm sure he will save us a lot of points over the rest of the season.

Fair play to Mason. After that mistake he didn't put a foot wrong and saved another goal.

Was not there but we are playing it across the back "under instructions" to do so and whether its left to right or right to left its what we are doing.

It needs to be executed well especially as the opposition will be fully aware that its what we do and sometimes will go wrong.

I will take heart from TRBs comments above as it looks to sum up the rest of the Thread !

It shouldn't be overlooked that the two handed push in the back caused Mason to slightly scuff the pass back to Lawlor.
