Now that the Blades have resigned Ched Evans what about a cheeky bid for James Hansen the striker/ target man they bought from Bradford, he going to 4th choice striker at the best at the Blades behind Sharp,Clarke and Evans

I also don't see what the big fuss surrounding keshi is. Fair enough he was good for us before he got injured but I wouldn't of said he was outstanding. Since his injury he's had a poor spell at Bolton and not pulled up any trees at Northampton. I wouldn't be overly excited about resigning him.

He was on £4K a week at City and is now on £10k at Sheffield. Utd.
He misses a lot of games through injury too.

Keshi is quality and i could see fergie getting the best out of him. Exciting and runs at defences too with quite a bit of speed, perhaps something totally different to what we have now.

I suppose we dont actually know that it is Keshi he is after, but I really hope so.

Ferguson does well with strikers it's defenders he doesn't seem to know what to with. Without looking at lists of who's released etc i would expect the Mansfield left back, Keshi and Carey from Plymouth might be another one.

He was a shelf stacker at the co-op in Idle before turning professional so come a long way. £4k a week at City seemed OTT but obviously the blades with a bigger budget speculated on him to get them over the line.
I can't see him featuring much now they are up.

Probably right idler, a bit like when Sharp went to Southampton.
He played a big part in their run in but then couldnt get a game in the PL on a regular basis.

Look at fergies record for developing and improving strikers. Then you'll realise how silly your pedantic comment on Williams was.

It's fine to not like fergie, but to keep going on and on trying to justify why you don't like him is embarrassing

Must have been handy for filling those higher shelves. Big loss to Co-op.

Almost as embarrassing as your argument that we didnt have a bad end of season run last season.

Almost as embarrassing as your argument that we didnt have a bad end of season run last season.

I suppose it all depends on what you mean by 'End of Season'

Let's take as an example the last 5 games of each season as a (not unreasonable?), starting point....

Last Season = Won, Drawn, Won, Lost, Drawn.  = 8 Points from a possible 15

This Season = Drawn, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost       = 1 Point from a possible 15

If you then compare those results with the previous 9 results in each season

Last Season = Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Lost, Drawn, Lost  = 1 Point from a possible 27

This Season = Drawn, Won, Drawn, Won, Won, Won, Lost, Won, Won = 20 Points out of a possible 27

It would appear, from the above, that last seasons End of Season results were good compared to the previous 9 results in that season whilst this seasons End Of Season results weren't actually bad, they were simply abysmal compared with the previous 9 results.

Whilst I'm absolutely delighted we're promoted I'm equally despondent that it is only in third place given the position we were in before those last five games.

Exactly kato, that's all I've been trying to explain to mr hound.
The end of last season was was good, it was the middle that cost us.
But that doesn't fit with his argument that fergie bottled it at the end of both seasons.

The end of last season was was good, it was the middle that cost us.

just a bit curious how you come to that conclusion, not trying to stir the pot (too much)

first sixteen games: three wins - five draws  =  14 points

next fifteen games: six wins - four draws  =  22 points

last fifteen games: two wins - four draws  =  10 points

try a different split:

first twelve games: two wins - five draws  =  11 points

next twelve games: six wins - two draws  =  20 points

next eleven games: one win - three draws  =  6 points

next eleven games: two wins - three draws  =  9 points

another:

first ten games: one win - five draws  =  8 points

next nine games: five wins  =  15 points

next nine games: three wins - four draws  =  13 points

next nine games: one draw  =  1 point

last nine games: two wins - three draws  =  9 points

averaging a point a game (or less) as in all of those illustrations cannot be considered good - it'll leave you with 46 points over the full season, and going down - there are only four instances in the last twenty years where a team has survived in league one on 46 points...

Kinda proves that whatever spin is put on this, our end of season was pretty poor.

welll - it shows an intent to play a pre-season game against a half-strength championship side - not sure about much else...
