Is there only me? I'm a little surprised to see Lund being let go. Nobody else has mentioned him.

Not really, he's not kicked on the last year or 2 and is behind Blair and Alcock in the right back slot.

Also every tackle is a penalty/red card waiting to happen

I would imagine Mason would make a competent right back too. He can offer something all across the back and in midfield. Really do think he's a great signing and allows us to be ruthless where the likes of Lund are concerned. I thought Lund might have been kept on, but I can understand the decision to allow him to move on.

Genuine question.
Has he conceded many penalties or been sent off?

Not sure but he has been booked for ill-timed tackles and has been lucky to escape giving away pens
That is why they are waiting to happen

That's what people used to say about Paul Green - and he didnt make too bad a career out of it. Lund is still young and has a lot of time to improve his game as PG did - good luck to him hope he does well.

I agree it's a shame he's going.  DF earlier in the season stated that before his injury he had been our best player.  Surely he's not suddenly become shit

Not sure if I read too much into Fergie's comments but he sort of hinted that the door isn't closed yet but they (him and Middleton) basically need to work. He seemed to suggest that after getting new contracts they settled into being secure and didn't kick on but as it stands they can leave.

That's a good point, Chris. Test their attitude a bit. Either take the transfer-listing as a bit of a kick up the arse and improve from there or see it as a rejection and skulk out of the club. If they've got the heart and desire we want from our players it'll be the former.
