He has gone backwards since he went there really,His playing days look over as he's spent most of his time there injured and hasn't featured at all playing only 10 games for them..And when the manager got the tin-tac it was Paynter who helped managed the team not Jones...
As for coaching here,i think he burnt far to many bridges with the people that matter to return here but good luck to him...

Don't know why people think he might have any coaching ability.

His managing skills were definitely limited

He probably has far more coaching ability than those commenting on it here though. I'm sure that he will get a coaching job somewhere, then he has to prove himself.

Coming from a man who thought John Marquis wouldn't score many goals this season...

I think the best RJ could offer would be to be the hard man booting players up the arse when they are coasting......like those last 5 games.

It was nothing other than fan sentiment,we loved him as a player so automatically people think he will be a great coach...On what basis? He was a defender who could read a game, head the ball and then get rid of it...He did that well but that's were his talents ended,he couldn't turn our form around when he got his chance and the people at Hartlepool obviously didn't think he was coach/manager material else he would have been caretaker infront of paynter....

I didn't. Everyone's allowed to be wrong once a season.
