I think, like a lot at Scunny their contracts are up and Chairman refused to talk about new ones until they knew what league they were going to be in.

He is plenty good enough and would be great up front alongside Marquis.
I posted a few weeks ago that a customer who is a close friend of Maddens had told me that he was likely to join us in the summer.

Double figures in each of the last four seasons he has played in League One, including two 20-goal hauls. What exactly is good enough if Madden isn't?

20 goal a season with a manager who plays attacking football. Would be a quality signing if we're honest.

Plenty good enough. More consistent than Williams and I think that's what DF is looking for.

If my intuition is good, then I think fans will be very pleased with our attacking prowess next season. Fingers crossed!

DBR, how will we know if your intuition is good if you don't tell us what it is?

Spill the beans man!

Isn't DF talking about a potential Premier League striker joining us on loan - would Madden still be a target if this is the case. Believe Madden would be a good addition though more physical power / precedes up front with JM. :rtid:

Value for money i.e. for nowt has an effect on a game , scores goals and doesn't go missing when you need him  . Oh yes ... got to be better than Williams who is just taking up space in the pitch.

He was one of Russ Wilcox's first signings I believe. If we have a strike force of Marquis, Mandeville, May, Madden and say Anderson or someone similar next season, I think we'd all be very happy with that.

Anderson would never fit as any part of that equation

we need to be looking at Morris, Maguire or Morison to have any sort of coherence...

Paddy Madden would be a good transfer for any League One side, let alone a newly promoted club. 51 goals in his last three seasons (147 apps).

He's still under contract so a fee would be required.

and that's just goals for scunny - he got a shedload in short order for yeovil before that too (22 in 44 apps)

contract runs out in july of this year - no brainer to grab him on a free....

if we're not a more attractive proposition and cannot offer a better deal than that set of bumpkin fücks, then we may as well give up and go home...

that may well be complete b*llocks - his original contract ran to july of last year - not sure what the terms of the newer one may be...

having now been bothered to check, it runs to summer 2018

No idea on the journo, the info came from one of their fans they tried getting him last year but Scunny wouldn't sell.

Last year of contract, bit of a bad attitude, Scunny would be delighted to get anything they could for him.

Maybe just in the market for the same players then, not long ago,Oldham seemed to be after every player we was.
