Rovers v Udders budget
« on May 30, 2017, 10:40:07 am by donnygeoff »
Just wondered if anyone knows our wage bill for last season. I know it won't be near Udders £12 million but a lot can be achieved with loan management and sound purchases. Udders was a lot less than others that are failing in Championship.

Wasn't ours up around the £8-9m mark when we were in the Championship?? Probably around £3-3.5m now.

Huddersfield wasn't too high for a Championship club, higher than we've ever had though.

I think Huddersfield had the third lowest budget in the Championship.

It was a similar size to that of Rotherham, to put it into perspective.

Same budget as Rotherham if the sky sports commentators are anything to go by. Just goes to show you don't need a massive budget to reach the big time.

Agreed acko but then again, you could do a West Brom for a few years and keep the money in the bank until you've a strong budget and squad to challenge to stay up.

I think Huddersfield had the third lowest budget in the Championship.

But like Bradford City they have been nocking season tickets at rock bottom prices and sold about 14,000 plus each year

I think that City are over 20,000 season and membership tickets for next season.

Price it right and sell the product, it is as easy as ABC.

It's not as simple as that though is it.

Certainly not at Donny - you have to produce the goods which Donny have a problem with. Bradford is a City and may have a bigger population but Udders is a town, regularly playing at  a good standard and higher league. It hs proved it this season where the club abandoned 12-17 range at £70 to reduction of £30

Huddersfield also used a lot of their TV monies etc. to subsidise their season tickets to help fill the ground.
They also have a smallish squad so been lucky injury wise.
Good luck to them and I hope that they stay up to annoy the big boys.

not having a go at Udders (I thought wendies were certainties to win the play offs -will have to wait another year) but they got promotion with a negative goal difference AND as I've just realised didn't win a single match in the play offs

a good quiz question there ???

I'm sure that any club in the league would be happy with promotion to the PL however it is achieved. Better to go up like that than out play your rivals and stay down.
My son-in-law and his family are all Town fans.
There are 4,000 town fans that have or will receive £100 back on their season ticket price as they have held them for the last ten years.
That is a great gesture.

On the flip side, they also didn't lose any games in the playoffs...

Remember when Dickov was in charge and we defended well but couldnt score goals?
Everyone moaned.
I wonder if the Uddersfans are moaning?

No, they are still on cloud nine.
From what I can make out they have now stopped selling season tickets and there are about 600 pay on or near the day for home fans.
To meet PL demands there capacity next year will be either 600 or 1200 less seats than last year. I didn't catch everything that my son-in-law's brother was saying when he was explaining it.

If we'd been defending well, not scoring goals and in the Championship playoffs (or even the league one playoffs) I doubt there would have been many complaints.

But didn't we get into, or on the edge of the L1 playoffs under PD Nick?
There were plenty of whingers in the South Stand even then.

No we finished 13th, 8 points off the play offs with a -4 goal difference and playing dreadful football.

We got up into the top six around February to be fair but yeah we ended up nowhere near after being in the hunt for quite a while.

I know where we finished BK but I was talking about earlier in the season.
PS. Do you sit in the South Stand?

The PL insist on a certain number of tickets to be available for purchase game by game, i.e. not selling everything you have to ST holders, plus a slightly different ratio of tickets reserved for away fans.
