Both Marquis and May were on to those mistakes like a flash. Beginning to look like these two are the best pairing up front.

Mandeville was the only player that had a bad game. He was anonymous against decent players. No pace and no strength.

I honestly didn't realise he was playing until about 25 minutes in.

Great finish by JM.
If only he had been as decisive last Saturday.
Good solid pen by Copps.

Well taken goals but I'd be furious if we conceded them!

Good to see Marquis off the mark, his first goal since the beginning of April I believe. He visibly grew in confidence after that goal.

How cool and calm did Alfie look with the third!

TBF that can be said of most goals.
You could argue that their goal was a bad one to give away.
Andrew(I think it was) allowed the ball to be crossed and the Blackburn player was allowed an easy header.

At first when he took a touch I thought the chance was gone with the keeper running back. Really calm finish in the end. :)

Both the goals from open play were well taken. I guess that's what happens when you press up front - players make mistakes and you can pounce.

I was amazed that we were awarded a penalty, seemed to take an age to deliberate over it and I think I'd be feeling miffed if it went against us

Defending was poor for their goal.

Christmas came early with that defending. Why didnt the lad get sent off for the penalty when he was last man.

Double jeopardy rule.

What does that even mean?

The rules state as was evident in another game today, if its the last man, its a straight red and a penno, rhe ref bottled it.

Thought double jeopardy rule was only for goalkeepers.

The 2 open play goals are the type I expect marquis and may to score all season with their style of play closing down and hassling the defender. Must be a nightmare to play against you just get rid of john marquis then little Alfie comes snapping at your heals like a Yorkshire terrier

Nope, start of last season they altered the ruling on sending a player off for conceding a penalty when last man. Now it's a yellow card, the referee got it spot on.

I bow to your up to date knowledge of the game laws, but a ref deffo sent off another player doing the same in a game today..

If you're referring to Kalas, then it isn't the same as he was sent off for a last man foul yes, but outside the box. Hence not a double jeopardy scenario.

The rules say nowt about  being "last man" its about preventing an obvious goal scoring opportunity.. Isn't it the case now that in those circumstances in the penalty area it isn't a red card if the foul is an attempted tackle??

The referee got it right. Had the situation been outside the box he would have walked.

They were presented on a plate though. Alfie had an open goal to roll it into!

Ive seen players miss easier chances, and roll it in is a bit of an exaggeration, im sure their defender would have stopped it running back across if he tried to roll it in
