IDM, I seem to recall that the game being referred to by DBR was the one towards the end of 2011 when they beat us 2-0 and our performance was abysmal to say the least.

I was also at the game you mentioned and was a guest of one of my Dingle supporting customers in his private box.
When mulligan smashed that one into the top corner I found myself shouting out the usual "yyyeeesssss" and was lucky to escape with my life.

Wasn't me who suggested it but I seem to recall a more recent game that we may have won 2-0 at Oakwell on a Saturday and I think Copps may have scored himself. Possibly in Championship??

Looking it up, it was 27/03/2010 when Copps scored the only goal. Up front that day was Billy and JET.

The following year was the horror show when we got hammered by their 10 men after Lewis Guy got Darren Moore sent off.

The 4-1 loss was in 2008 right after we got promoted to the Championship. I'll never understand how we lost from that position, the red card seemed to totally derail us when it should have been the other way around!

No I referred to the game where 2 dingles were sent off - think one pushed Copps into hoarding it was only time he got near him lol
Wow 2005 where has time gone

Was that the same game when John Doolan nearly broke the net?

That's the one I meant..  Can't remember the first scorer, but it was Mulligan scoring the screamer..

They should've had another one sent off near the end too. A blatant stamp on one of our players. I seem to recall Anthony Kay having some part in the match but can't remember if it was an OG (he definitely scored one for us at some point!), getting sent off or being the stamper who should've walked.

On Radio Sheffield after the match, the ref (Rennie) wasn't popular. They Gave Uriah a heap of criticism for getting the red card out in a derby match as if that somehow makes it ok to push players over walls and take them out knee high!

Gareth Barry 37 has signed for Stoke today, Teddy Sheringham was 41, Copps isn't over and done by a long way if they are anything to go by.....

My take on Copps is that he's avoided any really nasty injuries and his game was never really about out and out pace. Pace is the thing that players lose and causes them to be less effective. Copps's game us about being neat and tidy, creating a yard or two and quality delivery. I see no real reason who he can't play until he's 40 if he looks after himself. He'll know when he's had enough, when the aches and pains take a day longer to get over and the joints beg for no more.

Out of interest, what's his appearance record figure currently stood at?

I can see him helping us push for the Championship this season and if successful, he may continue for a little while. If we're not successful this season, I can see him calling it a day.
