Without doubt. I think it would be good enough to grace the Championship although the likelihood of Kongolo and Whiteman being with us beyond this season is slim.

There's a bit of everything in there but the bottom line is, they're all have a good standard of technical ability.

You can also add Mason into that mix. We're well blessed at the moment. Enjoy it!

Three of those players aren't ours to keep which is the issue for future seasons.

Kongolo and Khemis are unproven and Luke is injured. Blair is no world beater. Whiteman and Rowe are quality and Copps is Copps.

Unless you've seen every other side in the division play it's difficult to judge but there are probably better ones out there.

Fantastic League 1 midfield no doubt. Get promoted and we are a completely different proposition to some of the players we think are currently out of reach

It's no where near Coppinger, Stock, Wellens and Green!

It's good clearly, but surely nobody knows the other 23 midfields well enough to claim this?

The good thing is Whiteman,Houghton and Kongolo can play at least two positions in a Diamond midfield. Rowe and Coppinger can, Khemis unknown at the moment we know predominantly left footed.
Blair can play right of Diamond plus right wing back and right back.
Luke is injured so let's see when he returns to play 30 mins of football and then we move on.

Not yet.. And they may never be, but somewhere approaching that class will do!

Let's see how the next few months pan out...

Not comparing apples with apples though.

Copps, Stock, Wellens were all in their prime years at the time. Whiteman, Kongolo & Houghton are all just starting out in their careers so we would need to see them in their prime to compare.

In my opinion the three we have now will turn out as good as the "Galacticos" we had in the championship.

Certainly the best options since then. Although we have to factor in that we don't own half of this midfield.

Agreed Jonathan but on the flip side we do own Blair, Copps, mccullogh, Rowe and Ben Khemis -  which ain't a bad start point either plus Mason who can do a job there. Be nice to pull one or two of the others in permanent if the chance arose

you don`t know yet ,but it could turn out a better midfield  than Wellens and co. Fergie doing a great job.

I wonder how many league one sides 'own' all their midfield players? You have a point Jon, but ask yourself this - if we couldn't loan anyone and had to buy, what would be the standard of our midfield, then?

I'd wager it would be nowhere near the quality of what we have now and perhaps we should enjoy them while we have the chance. In an ideal world, I'd like to think that 1 or 2 of them have been loaned so we can have a good look at them (not unlike Jordan, I am hoping).

Enjoy them while they are here. I'll never forget the joy of watching Tony Woodcock tearing defences to pieces in a Rovers shirt. It was an all too brief stay but quality is always worth watching.

Thought Rowe was really good today, and thought kongolo got better as game went on.

and if Rovers had £30,000 they could have bought him the option was there

No they are not on what they have shown so far.
Copps is good but we should have spent money last summer to replace him.
Rowe best midfield player along with Jordan but wasted on the left.
Whiteman should be playing right and more attacking but at 20/21 he's learning this league.
Kongolo 20/21 learning league 1 but is improving.
Houghton unknown yet at this level we all hope if fit enough he will make our midfield better.
Blair not a midfield player better at right back.
Ben Khemis is not good for league one he was signed because he was cheap.
McCullough not sure he is good enough but we will wait and see.
