Merthyr Town v Slough Town last night
« on October 11, 2017, 03:09:59 pm by The Red Baron »
Did anyone see this result? Merthyr were 4-0 up after 21 minutes. Ended up being beaten 5-4 when Slough scored in stoppage time.

I remember Rovers leading 4-0 at Telford and ending up hanging on at 4-4. It was the season we went up from the Conference.

On the other side of that coin TRB, I (just) remember Rovers being 4-0 down at half-time at Crewe in 1964-5 and coming back to draw 4-4.

Don't remember the game but I do recall reading about it. I wonder what is the biggest deficit that has been overturned?

Not in the same 90 minutes, but wasn't there a champions league tie last season when Barcelona had to beat another team by 6 goals in the second leg to win the tie, and they did?

Think Barca were 4-0 down from 1st leg but PSG scored in away leg meaning Barca has to then score 6 to go through

We didn’t go 4 up. 3-0 up to 4-3 down, 4-4 then 5-4 to them. 5 goals in the last half an hour for them. Unbelievable game.

I'm sure late 80s we played Halifax at home (night match) and were leading 3-0 at half time and lost 4-3?

It wasn't a night game but that is what happened.

Fair enough I just remember them scoring all their goals late in the game

As I remember, Paul Barnes and Robert Gill were tearing them apart and because we had to play the next round the following Tuesday Dave Penney took them both off. Then Yeovil got back into it.

They won the FA Trophy that season. I went to the Final which was at Villa Park.

I seem to remember back in the late '50s or early '60s Huddersfield Town beating Charlton Ath. 7-6 after coming back from 5-1 down. One of their strikers scored 5, I think.....................................................
Nope,  I got it wrong! Charlton were the winners. See this link:

I was there too. I remember willing the final whistle, if we'd played any longer we would have lost. Cracking free kick from Dean Barrick I seem to recall

I was at that Telford game and I remember it vividly TRB.
In fact I won't thank you for reminding me - my psychiatrist has told me I must forget it!

He put on Mark Sale. The game was an absolute disgrace.

Didn't the useless tool of a referee conjure up about 9 mins injury time at Telford? I remember thinking if he'd added on a couple more, we'd have lost!

Yeah great game and 0-3 down with Dover striker getting 3 in 20 minutes or so and then getting Subbed as it was job done - someone should have told them it was not !

And Ian Snodin danced on the pitch on the final whistle like we'd won the FA Cup

I thought that at the time he either left at half time or was at an airport in London when he heard the final score or was that Glyn?
