This latest one is annoying me. I recognise him and I suspect he was a youth product who made a few appearances before leaving. All of the names I can think of don't match the face.

Correct.

It was in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Crewe.

Evan Finnegan, who I always rated highly and still think could have broke through under different circumstances, came on in the same game.
