Way To Early World Cup Competition

Right here we go. World Cup competition. Should be quite straight forward hopefully..

Name where you think each team will finish in the groups, Followed by your 8 Last 16 Winners, your 4 Quarter-Final Winners, 2 Semi-Final Winners and then the Outright Winner.

Obviously you will not yet know the Knockout Match-ups so look at this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup#Round_of_16 to work out who gets who based on your Group predictions and optimize your K.O predictions. -

The scoring will be as follows :-
1st In Group = 4
2nd In Group = 3
3rd In Group = 1
4th In Group = 1
Last 16 Winner = 8
QF Winner = 16
SF Winner = 25
World Cup Winner = 50
for a grand Total of 300 up for grabs

and finally pick a minute of the first goal in the 3rd place play-off as a tie-breaker.

You can change your entry up until the beginning of the opening game after that all entries will be locked. Just quote the below form and fill in your predictions....

Fairly easy run for England to get to the QF if the players perform to anything like their ability. Couldn't have asked for a much easier group. Then 2nd round would be against either the second weakest first seed or the 2nd-3rd weakest second seed.

Then it's Germany or Brazil in the QFs.

Course, England will almost certainly find a way to under-perform in even that task.

Stones is a young player who is getting better and better.
In the recent England games he has really begun to show his class and will gain confidence going into the World Cup.
Amazing how people slag off our young players.

BST, I think you've picked the stage of elimination rather than winners of each round (ie the SF selections should be your predicted final and QF should be those 2 plus the other two semi finalists etc..) I know it's essentially the same thing but it'll make it easier for me to mark during the tournament.
Although if I've only got 1 entry it should be pretty easy anyway.

I figured the clearest way to fill the form would be to write the full match in each slot, i.e. "Brazil def. Germany" and so on?

I'll probably have a go myself after a bit more thought.
