The standard of football is irrelevant, the pub comment is the offensive part.
Only a pub team having a laugh. DRFC

Motherwell just happens to be my home town it is along way from a pub team, as an ex player I know how hard the club has to work to even achieve the SPL status it currently has, and by the way they have qualified for European football so not that bad a standard although we were well beaten on each occasion.

I don't get the knocking of Scottish football.  It is what it is!

For sure, the standard may be lower than in England, and the difference between the top sides and the rest is more noticable.  However it isn't shite nor pub level.

One of the best games I went to ever for entertainment was the highland derby between Ross Co and Inverness CT in 1997 when they were both in the 4th tier.  Neither side would have held their own in the EFL 4th division, but it was entertaining nonetheless.

Other than Celtic the teams have sides made up from players signed from league one and league 2

Steven Caulker England International signed Dundee United , there are very few lge 1 or Lge 2 players in the Scottish leagues the vast majority are home grown , the fact is there are far more Scottish players in the top 4 leagues in England , money talks hence the large numbers of imported players in the premier league and the EFL.
Copps is an exception which should be applauded and is an ideal role model for young players , maybe EFL clubs should be investing in this direction rather that going for the short term fix, chasing the dragon usually ends in getting burnt.

Exactly!!! Professional and a level that is 2nd tier around the rest of Europe! Limit prem and champ to 5&7 none uk based respectively and see how many of these Scottish and L1/2 would be making up championship squads and who knows what else once given a chance.
Its a very good level that most keyboard managers couldn't wash the kit of!!!

Steven caulker hasn't even had a club for 2 years!
I'm not sure there are too many Scottish players in the prem, just look at the state of the national side.
Just from doncaster recently there's been Quinn, gary woods, Martin woods, main, forester, all very average for us but went to play in the top league in Scotland

Matt Ritchie  Newcastle,Andrew Robertson  Liverpool,

Darren Fletcher ,Charlie Adams

Stoke, Ketchi Anya Watford, Matt Phillips , James Morrison West Brom, Ryan Fraser B,Mouth,, James McArther Crystal Palace, Jay Fulton,
Stephen Kingsley Swansea plus another dozen squad players, then there is the Championship with another 2 or 3 dozen not to shabby from a country with a sixth of the U.K.  population.
