It looks the same as the coloured panels on the outside corners of the stadium, which I thought was done for evacuation point purposes or something similar.

What's the blue and yellow seating all about?

bear in mind these are renderings made before the place was properly planned, created by a graphics company in west sussex - just random colouring, i'd have said - no real significance...

I think it's along the lines of(others will know more),for the council to justify(and quite rightly) building and the spending public funds on it,it needed to be for alot of the community, not just Rovers.I believe It was felt, that having reds only seats would look like it was all being for Rovers. The different colours in different stands was for concerts etc with ticketing and for helping visitors with there bearings etc.Something along those lines anyway.

sounds feasible - good to know that having secured the funding, then, they just said f**k it and went with red and white

Not only a bigger capacity , but a better looking stadium.
The roof as built is pretty naff really.
However , this stadium would have looked a bit bare with Saturday's 7000 crowd,
so maybe the design is appropriate , but could have done more with the  roof nevertheless.

Aren't the pins in a specific stand for where it'd get extended?

Yep,luckily it was possible to persuade them,to alter to red with the spirit of Doncaster logo.At one point,I believe they wanted to do the seats Pink and mauve like the logo, that would have been a bit embarrasing.

I dare say we would need to get to the premier league to get 20,000 so unless that happens I would agree it’s not necessary for the foreseeable

Surely it'll be whether it's near 14,500 if we'll need to expand?

Those designs with the floating roof we're not pie in the sky. Detailed plans were drawn up (I have a copy)

All was set to go ahead until it was insisted the site had to be surveyed for greater crested newts. That delay combined with the increase in steel prices meant the build couldn't be kept in with the original budget and the simple choices were, to rework the plans and keep within the budget or go back to the council for approval for the extra money. It was felt the latter would cause further delay and would likely be rejected.

Not one bleeding newt was found!

They did find one newt and the Enviromental Officer who found it took it home and kept it as a pet.
I know this as I have seen it at his house.
I asked what he had called the little feller and he said it’s name was Tiny.
I asked him why he chose Tiny as a name and he said “Because he is mynute” ( my newt for those of a non humorous disposition).
