Selby

I'm not claiming to be psychic, or anything like that, but when you were at school, was your favourite team, other than Rovers, Blackpool, who were in the top flight at the time? Just asking.

I think Selby has always had a soft spot for Spurs I believe (maybe wrong).
Trust me he's an out and out Donny fan just like his dad was.

You are both right, Mathews was the man when I was a boy, and the early sixties Spurs team changed the way football was played in Britain, a fantastic side to watch.
But they, and other teams like Celtic, Man Utd, Leeds Ajax, Arsenal, and other far more famous teams who have impressed  will never be My Team.
That's reserved for the one and only Doncaster Rovers, good bad or indifferent, since my first game in 1951, as Derek says, its in the genes, thanks dad.

I think I know you, Brian. I also went to Percy Jackson Grammar School, and was in the same year as Derrick Downing, who went on to have a great career with Middlesborough and Leyton Orient, amongst others. He and I knocked about together up town until quite recently, when I decided I was getting too old for it.
One of my main memories from school, was when loads of us went to the Red House cemetery to see David Pegg's burial. It was very moving.
The reason I asked about the Blackpool thing, was because I think I once travelled with you on the train to see Wendesdays play Blackpool when Mathews was still playing. I obviously can't tell you my name on here, but Dave(the Vicar) knows you so maybe we'll come across each other tomorrow, or at another match.

Both came back to Car with bags of stuff but I was past caring ! Cant believe we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory again. I would have taken 1-1 before the KO but when it went 1-1 I feared the worst and it came !
