Var working well

Taken from bbc website

Madness at Mainz
Unbelievable scenes in the Bundesliga game between Mainz and Freiburg this evening. Mainz are awarded a penalty courtesy of a VAR decision on handball. Only problem was that the half-time whistle had already gone and most of the players were back in the changing room. They are called back out on to the pitch and Pablo de Blasis, after waiting for the Freiburg keeper to arrive, scored from the spot.

Yes a very embarrassing / unfortunate mess. There will be many more to come but if any good came out of it at least it was a "just" / correct  decision (for which VAR is there of course)

Bet that altered the Half Time talks on both sides

VAR in its current guide is a nightmare, the process doesn't work. They need to take it out of the match referee's hands once he refers it, if it's to identify a clear error that has been missed then that means it should be cut and dry that the video official can say for certain what action needs to be taken.

This is all just a mess and there will be real hell on if it costs a major nation the World Cup in similar circumstances this summer.

On the experience of the recent England v Italy friendly, expect a lot of soft penalties and be given on VAR review.
