Penalties

Anyone else think we should have had two penalties today? The first for a foul on May after the defender misread the bounce. The second for a push in the back on Houghton.

From my seat I wasn’t too sure about the first however the second looked a definite penalty.

First was a maybe for me too but seen them given. The second was a blatant push in the back was expecting a flag up and a blown whistle but the west stand Lino as normal a complete waste of space

Funny wasn't it how the assistant referee was quick to flag for two dives outside the box but wouldn't give anything inside the box.

It's that same tired cliche...."outside of the box it's a foul". Pisses me right off. I'm in agreement with the other comments here...the first one a maybe, the second one absolutely nailed on.

Yeah that - stitched on the second one andIve seen em given for the first

However this Ref was crap when he last reffed us and has not improved

.... and not for the first time I say we should now have 30 timed minutes for each half and cut out all the s**t we have to put up with time wasting wise

Houghton one a cert, May a strong possibility as the defender was trying to pull him back after the ball bounced past him.

Houghton, definitely. Possibly didn't help his case that he made the most of the contact, but it was still a shove in the back.

First one, I thought so but I can kind of see why it might not be given. Second one was absolute stone wall and I was borderline foaming at the mouth.

Clear push on Houghton.
Backs up my original thoughts.
Lino had a perfect view too.

and what about the third? a push on Marquis when he put his header just wide, he even tried to get the ref to look at the big screen when it was replayed

The lino was the famously incompetent Eddie Iderton

Thought they would of both been soft when i saw in real time but i'd make the point that the ref was giving those as fouls all day long everywhere else (its always the case i know)

The lino wasn't Eddie Ilderton but even worse news for you is that I believe Mr Ilderton is the ref on Tuesday.

That one was just a bad header for me, live and on the replay.

Agree with the consensus on the other two, May it's a maybe, and Houghton was a stonewall penalty, right in front of me. A clear push but the officials were awful, awful as usual.

Correct on both counts. He will be as bad on Tuesday as he usually is when officiating us (and more than likely every other Team too)

Rate the Ref is a good feature to see who is coming and of course how they were rated afterwards. Poorly as it happens yesterday

Good footage of the second one here

Not sure what the DRFC footage shows but when there is footage captured like this, surely it's time that the FA look seriously at this problem

Go on then, why isn't it? blatant push in the back, which is a foul, and inside the penalty area, where a foul typically results in a penalty kick...

He’s not been pushed, he’s got his body between the defender and the ball, felt contact and gone down. Contact doesn’t mean a penalty.

Give up!  if you watch it properly you'll see at the point of contact  initially his  upper body thrusts forward quickly then recovers from the initial thrust and goes down you can't fake that.
He was pushed quite hard simple as

This is a man who argues that penalties scored shouldn't be taken into account when looking at goal tallies, remember.

I agree, he’s waited for the contact and then fallen forward. He could’ve stayed on his feet.

Outside of the box that is given as a free kick all day long.
The tool of a ref must have given ten free kicks for the same thing in other areas of the pitch.

Penalty for certain.

Contact doesn’t mean a penalty.

No, but when you are pushed over by two arms in the back, that is a foul.
