With this Board, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest!

Haven't got a scooby who could be good, bad or indifferent managers.

Alan, really don't get your issue with the board. They contribute millions to the club every year, they have a meeting with the fans every year where fans can express their views which is something a long of clubs won't get. The club is in a far better position financially than probably any other time in its history. But yet every post I see you make you moan about them. Genuinely not exactly sure what you expect from them??

Lee Clark very nearly got the job last time. Awful manager.

If Lee Clark gets the job I’ll be sick.

Can I get my money back on my season ticket if Clark gets it?

He was shortlisted, interviewed and invited back for further discussions

How about Ian Holloway. At least his interviews will be entertaining

Given we are not in a situation to recruit a SOD type dream manager, I would say attributes for me are going to be:

- ability to organise and insert backbone
- motivational figure
- keep youth system moving

I would honestly say good football but we have to be realistic with what we can expect. So long as it is better than Dickov then I will be happy.

I would add being known for playing attractive football is key too. The football in the main last season was awful to watch

What a sad tragic list of hasbeens and flops in the reckoning for the job per the bookies. Let's hope they are wrong cos Clark, Megson, Brown and co just garbage. As a long standing season ticket holder this list is so uninspiring that if the Board go for the cheap option or unimaginative option of recruiting one of these I will question my sanity making the 80 mile round trip 23 home games next season. Lee Clark should never get another league manager job ever!

The kind of process we enacted last time opened us up to talkers.

I suggest this time we go out and observe someone in action or stick to some kernel of football knowledge.

Disagree, we are in a strong position to appoint someone decent like him. Saunders left us for greener grass, Dickov was sacked but given plenty of time, as well as a chance at a level he hadn't been at before. Ferguson was backed financially and given more than enough time despite a relegation.

If I was a manager looking for a job I'd be straight in for this one. You don't get sacked easily, the setup is decent and the club finances are not in a mess.

The fundamentals here are important. Anyone would see this as a decent springboard. Stadium, stable owners, decent budget, faith (to fault) in managers, sensible CEO, improving youth set up, good crowds and interesting Club Doncaster set-up that shows a forward-thinking club plus we are in footballing part of the world (ie not Exeter or Carlisle) where lots of managers and players live within hour drive to work. All these are reasons to be cheerful that we can attract the right calibre of candidate.

That last sentence is interesting to read.
Quite a few people are now saying that but if anyone dared to mention it last season they were quickly berated by a few posters.

Is Danny Wilson in the betting?
A little bird told me that he was actually offered the job before a last minute phone call swung it in DF's favour last time.
Just saying

Dare to dream!

Stuart McCall now favourite, would be a good appointment. However didn’t he want a bigger budget hence why he left Bradford?

Tisdale is a realistic appointment for me won’t be to expensive plus I think most fans would be happy with him and not get on the boards back

Why do we want to appoint any of these managerial underachievers who have been sacked by every club they have ever managed? McCall Grayson Rosler Megson etc etc

Grayson has a good record of getting promoted from this devision. McCall done pretty well wherever he’s been. Most managerial reigns end in a sacking. Doesn’t make all managers bad.

I think if you are looking for us to appoint a manager who has never had the sack you are in for a very long wait.
