For what it’s eorth before studying stats I thought Rosler - but now I favour McCall - had a 45% win percentage at Bradford compared to 37.8% by Fergie

The fact Grayson took the Bradford job would suggest he's open to our level more so given the goings on over there when he joined them.

The more we look at it i can't help thing fergie has done us a favour because for once theres actually some decent names about! just hope we get one of the good ones!

Grayson said when he took the job that it would only be until the end of the season as he was a Championship manager.
He obviously didn't like City's constraints on the manager or rather coach.

I have to be honest that none of those really set the heart racing. I would hope we consider some left-field candidates potentially lower and non-league or even overseas folks.

I'm sure she could find a way to motivate the players...

Strachan doesn't meet many of the criteria at all though. Normally an assistant can get the big job if the manager leaves mid season and they do well as caretaker, can't see it happening here unless in those kind of circumstances would be a big punt if they did do that

Yep, she'd get it if she asked nicely.

Graham Potter the Englishman who took Ostersund of Sweden to two successive promotions to play for the first time in the Swedish top division. He won the Swedish Cup thus qualifying for Europe in the Europa League for the 2017/18 season. They played Galatasaray in the qualifying stages 2-0 at home then drawing 1-1 in Istanbul going through to the Group Stages 3-1 on aggregate. Galatasaray have a turnover of £150 million, Ostersund's is £5 million. They then went on to the Group Stages, finishing 2nd in a Group featuring Athletico Bilbao & Hertha Berlin. They then drew Arsenal in the first game of the knock out stages. In the first leg at the Emirates they beat Arsenal 2-1 only to lose the return 3-0 in the return leg.

They finished 8th in the top division (consisting of 16 clubs) in their first season (2016), 5th last season & after 11 games of this season currently lie in 6th spot.

Now how's that grab you for a punt?

Colin C - have you been living under a rock?! Potter is to be Swansea's new manager and there have been plenty of news articles about him over the last few days.

The Cowley brothers from Lincoln for me. I've been saying it for ages. Fairly local, can't be on huge wages/compo, worked wonders with little to spend and may relish the chance to manage TLO Doncaster.

I’ve only ever seen Lincoln play football in the same style as the 1980s Wimbledon side! Not for me.

I honestly don't think they would leave Lincoln for us, I think they may be aiming higher and if Lincoln start well next year a championship club may come knocking. An Imps fan has said to me that the football isn't great. Added to that, I doubt we will pay compensation.

I think that they will see it as being only part way into a huge project at Lincoln.  I have a couple of my former grassroots players there at the moment, playing for U18s and they say that the club has been torn apart from top to bottom and is being entirely rebuilt by the Cowleys.  All the players seem to see it as being on an upward trajectory with them at the helm

All the names so far look quite dull to me. Nothing to get the fan base excited.
I'd like the board to look further afield with a totally different approach.

Ok, I actually get where you're coming from with a different approach, but the only trouble with that is the fact that we've only got while June 25th to get the new man in.

My first thought on the short list was grayson,as others have said,he has got 4 different clubs promoted from league one,3 times through play-offs,but then after thinking,I feel, each of those clubs,Blackpool,Preston,Huddersfield and Leeds will have had at the time,a comparatively bigger playing budget than he would probably get with us in league one. :chair:

It doesn’t matter how far afield we look, with modern transport the way it is, anyone should be able to get to Donny by June 25th.

What's Neil Redfearn won? what's Grant McCann won?; I think you'll find most men on that list haven't won anything, but if you look at achievements, McCall got Bradford to the League One play-off final in the same season that they went completely unbeaten at home; also, he achieved second spot in the SPL twice with Motherwell. These aren't the accomplishments of a crap manager, and I doubt that many Bradford fans would disagree with that.
