Was the game at Belle Vue or was this part of a tour of Northern Ireland?

Was at Belle Vue. The Irish tour was 53 I think.

Thanks. I have a programme from a floodlit friendly against Hibernian, who I think were Scottish champions at the time. It also includes a cutting with a report on the game. That must be worth a few bob.

I have a similar item TRB but the opposition is Falkirk. Think the game was around the same time maybe.

I think the Hibs game was 52-53 and the Falkirk game was 53-54.

There was a Donny vs Celtic XI game from 50's, Donny won 3-2 i'm led to believe. The programme was on ebay a few years ago and went for a good few quid.

I've got some programmes from the Wormatia Worms and Werder Bremen games in my possession, can't remember the years though.

The Celtic game is high up on my ‘want’ list. I have quite a decent collection of our games against foreign opposition.

They also played Minden, a German team in 1968, and I think won 4-0 from memory. I have a programme from that one but it's only a single sheet.

Most of those programmes against Scottish opposition don’t hold great value

Celtic £25 ish
Hearts £15ish
Falkirk £10ish
Hibs £20ish
Airdrieonians £2

Linfield is pretty rare hence the price, the ones above come up for sale more frequently

I missed at £69 as not got but as all good e-bayers know it all kicks off in the last 20 seconds. West Ham 50-51 Is going to go for big as the last one later was over a ton big style...and Everton at home 50-51 mmmmm... save up yer pennies chaps...

So my Blackburn Rovers v Rovers from Feb 51 was a bargain at £13 then?

It was a few years back - and it is a bit lived in - like most 67 y olds !

Its not really that logical. Yes it does seem that it was a bargain, yet I bought a 1935 Fulham away for about £20, however a 1938/39 Lincoln away is for sale now if you have a mere £295 spare, and for £100 less a home game against Rochdale or Chester away currently on e-bay....seems people put things on at a random bidding price?

Yes it does not follow logic sometimes

I will sell this Prog eventually and a few others when I can be bothered to fish them out - and I will just have to be patient with the 1400 or so I have in Boxes that average I suppose 1970 ish. These are non Rovers  - mainly North Western Clubs - with 6 or so full Man U Seasons and I was going to sell 'em all 1 by 1 but cant be bothered.
