This budget issue

Sean has been quoted as saying that the club was not prepared to break our salary cap to sign Shackell. My source at Coventry tells me that Ward is/was on £10k per week, one of the reasons he was not offered a new contract. With Billy Sharp reputedly on similar money at Blades, we will be lucky to sign either let alone both.

O how I hate the close season...almost as much as I hate football agents.

Forget Billy, if we can`t afford to live with the likes of Barnsley, and we can`t afford a 32 year old LB thats in the twilight of his career, what chance have we got of getting Billy!

What if billy is higher up SOD/JR's target list than Shackell and Robbo? What if they were to offer a massive bonus scheme for goals? What if Billy wanted to stay at the Rovers more than we give him credit for? What if they were prepared to offer a longer contract with more incentives to Billy?

Might all be b*llshit, but then again it might not....

Don't you just love the close season?  :P
