Joking aside what the latest on these two?
Not exactly racing to sign are they?

Doesn't Oster need an operation?
If so then when we find he is crocked we will sign him.

End of the Day, Hayter can go for me, hes been a good player for us, but if he is honest with himself, he'll want regular first team football, and im sure he could get it at a top end league one side, certainly still got a few top years left but not quite in SOD's plans i dont think. As for Ost, he's only going to sign a new deal when he see other proven players coming in, he knows if he wasn't to resign there would be a host of sides wanting him from the championship, hes still got a few years left at this level yet.

But give SOD/ROK a break they'll have a host of players lined up im sure, they havent let us down yet and they wont. I do think they have made a mistake giving Wilson and Lockwood 2 yr deals but hey ho, they know better than me.

Does anyone else think we should have a reserve side to keep fringe players/ better youth lad progessing sharp, match fit and ready to step in when the call comes?

I'll have to take you to task re your comments about James Hayter he's been absolutely marvellous for us & if he sign's again will continue to be he has what a lot of pro footballers don't posses that is a footballing brain also he's extremely tenacious & as brave as a lion he'll throw himself in head first without hesitation.  If he goes I'll be gutted because he gives his all in every game he play's regardless of the position the manager asks him to play come on sign him up he's a star, down to earth with both feet firmly planted on the ground.  Plus he get's his goals very nearly double figures last season despite playing for the majority in a wide left or midfield berth.  A true legend & I hope we can keep him.  Stay James !!!!

Taken him to task twice Branton , you really aren't happy with those comments are you?
Have to say i have the same opinion as you, imo Hayts is a good player and I often wonder whether I watch the same team as others week in week out.
:scarf:  :scarf:  :scarf: we will be sorted out by the end of next week I'm sure.  B)

If Hayter had been 6 foot tall he'd have played for England. I forget who actually said that originally but I agree entirely with the statement. He is without doubt our best player in my opinion, and the best header of a ball I've seen since Laurie Sheffield.

I know this sounds as if i'm being all doom and gloom but my view is that if he hasn't signed by now then I'm not getting hopes up about Hayter signing unfortunatly. Can't really say the same about Oster though if that is true about us waiting to see if he has any long term damage.

He's 5'10\". If he was 6' he'd have probably played for Donny. Unless Mrs Stubbs-Tears is right and that extra 2 inches is what separates journeymen from world class performers.

Free Press says these two should sign next week.  No mention of the pen though and no actual quotes so I remain sceptical on that source.

I don't think Hayter's every really had enough credit for what his goal meant to us all and DRFC as a club at Wembley. The man is a Legend in my eyes and i hope he stays for a long time to come, he's a tireless team player and invariably makes us play better as a team than we do without him.

I heard the pen was left at the custody desk at Donny Police station when signing to collect valuables after release.  :silly:

I had a look at the online version of the FP today and couldn't see any mention of Oster and Hayter. Maybe it is only in the \"dead tree\" version! I agree with those above who say that Hayter would be a big loss. He is a fine player who would be hard to replace, so I hope he signs.

With Fairhurst now in the bag, that leaves the above-mentioned two plus Dumbuya and (possibly) Sam Hird. I dare say we'll know one way or the other within a fortnight: Rovers stop paying them after 30th June!

It was in the \"dead tree\" version.  But as has been said no quotes or nothing so I'm sceptical on it.

What about Hayts and Oster waiting to see if we sign Billy.
Billy signs and is on far more than anyone else, great if you are still negotiating.
You might not get as much but at least you have an idea what to aim at,rather than signing now for a lower wage.
