mutleyroverA poll is behind the idea of a thread, but I think we might need to give it a little longer so we've exhausted the nomminations.
I can remember years ago the wife and I was in a pub, in the West Country. The local rugby team were celebrating, and the place suddenly erupted into a rendition of the 'Yellow Rose of Texas'....the lyrics being altered to relate to the team. Thinking about, the song is uplifting and the words are so easy to adapt. For instance, and just off the top of my head:The red and white of Rovers. The one I'm going to seeNo one could ever miss themNot half as much as meYou can talk about unitedYou can talk about cityBut the red and white of RoversIs the only one for meSomeone more creative with a nouse for lyrics will be able to do a far better job than me. It shows, however, how easy the song is to alter.
SpaceShowerTeleVisionThe song is more apt because it comes from a musical called 'Seesaw' ... no team has been on a seesaw ride like Donny. Problem is... do we want to be associated with a song made famous by a bunch of Muppets?
