Ronnie Moore being interviewed now. He notes that they're a smaller side and our physicality worries him. It feels so weird being referred to as a physical side full of giants, we've spent so long being bullied off the ball it takes some getting used to.

Woods, Quinn, Husband, Jones, Spurr, Keegan, Bennett, Woods, Cotterill, Paynter and Hume start. Wouldn't argue with that selection at all.

Woods and Bennett on the wings I take it? might do Woodsy good to be out wide.

Correct Filo another it doesn't matter attitude coming in from Rovers to the fans. Is there any wonder we are so cynical about anytrhing they try to do when they can't even sort out a simple commentary on their own matches.

Only 5 mins too late and no explanation!

This is why they should start braodcasting half an hour before KO to sort out any problems
Title: Re: Wannabee Scousers v Donny
Post by: MachoMadness on October 23, 2012, 07:52:52 pm
how've we started, anyone?

Tranmere look nervous at the back but dangerous going forward. Paynter went close from a well worked set piece, they've had a couple of decent efforts from range. Sounds even so far.
Title: Re: Wannabee Scousers v Donny
Post by: MachoMadness on October 23, 2012, 07:55:32 pm
They're starting to pressure us a bit, need to push out a bit Rovers!
Title: Re: Wannabee Scousers v Donny
Post by: DonnyBazR0ver on October 23, 2012, 07:57:05 pm
Does worry me that we'll be quite static again, and having to do plenty of defending. No much creativity in midfield so will have to rely on the odd break out with Bennett and Hume.

Title: Re: Wannabee Scousers v Donny
Post by: MachoMadness on October 23, 2012, 07:58:10 pm
Sounds like Cotterill and Bennett are our two biggest threats. They sound slow at the back, I feel like those 2 are going to be vital if we want anything from this game.

You're right Filo. They often have pre match problems so why not get online earlier and sort any  technicalities out prior to the game starting

HT 0-0. They're having all the play but we've had the two best chances. We're playing in fits and starts atm, when we run at them they look shaky but we seem to be happy sitting back for some reason.

Title: Re: Wannabee Scousers v Donny
Post by: Barmby Rover on October 23, 2012, 08:43:00 pm
It always sounds like we are desperately holding out with our defence, we need another layer to make sure that fewer shots come raining in on goal. Keegan is incapable of keeping hold of the ball, Cotterill and Bennett just fly forward instaed of thinking about what they are doing and who is Harper? Is he on the field? Tackles and gets rid.
We play without a midfield essentially.

Post by: IDM on October 23, 2012, 08:48:59 pm
So, holding the league leaders at half time, away from home.. Not too bad at present - hope we can turn it up a bit 2nd half to lift the load off the defence and perhaps nick a goal.

We could end up in the top 6 tonight, with a thin squad and not yet (by all accounts) playing very well.  Where will we be with consistent decent performances?

Unbelievable stuff from Rovers, how easy would it have been to crumble after their goal? Another robbery by the sounds of it but got to keep it tight again now. Clinical!

My God, deep breath everyone, we've done it! What a vital win that is, hope those injuries aren't too serious though, and were just taken off as precautions.

How refreshing to have a side with some bloody b*llocks in it for a change.
