Keep Sinclair away from the field, what a waste of space, poor excuse of a footballer, Bennett would have been a better choice and that is saying something.

We need a new manager in the summer. I said that from the second he was appointed! Still think we'll win the league, just a bad spell.

From what I've seen Flynn is not the man. Poor tactically, poor subs and no direction from the bench.  Thing is I'm not too bothered we aren't good enough to go up.

When i heard the line up on the radio on the way to the ground, I couldn't believe it, SIX defenders on the pitch??????
Awful performance. Just hope this 'minor blip' isn't starting to turn into something a little more serious.

Robbie Blake would be a better option than Sinclair. Only player who hasn't really had a chance under Flynn.

Bad choice of formation, bad tactics, no urge to change things in the second half. Got to say it was not a good night for Mr. Flynn. Not sure why Husband was brought in to play out of position with Benny on the bench. Would much rather have an out of form winger playing on the wing than an inexperienced defender.

Also what's he got against Fowler? Harper shouldn't have come on when Griffin got injured, Fowler should've. Harper needs to retire immediately for the good of football.

Have to say, I'm uninspired so far. And I'll maintain that Saunders departing has effectively finished our season.

Spot on! Shocking team selection and even worse subs. How bad must Fowler be to be behind a full-back, a half-fit Woods and the frankly appalling Harper. If I see the latter anywhere near the team sheet in future I'll turn around and go home again.

If it's still the same when Hume's back I'd agree. To me, he's been too big a loss to the team to enable me to form a proper judgement.

We shouldn't be so reliant on one player though. It never served us well when we became a one man team when Mr. Sharp was here.

The difference is that our defence was a shambles then. Now it's much better but we've not enough creativity up front without Hume.

We're missing Syers badly too, and we'll miss Keegan a lot I think.

Don't want to jump to conclusions too early, but in the last three games, we seem to have lost everything that made us an effective team.

Tonight's strategy was baffling. Six defenders in the side? Griffin did okay in midfield, but is no specialist, and Husband tried his heart out but just isn't a left winger.

Every time the ball went forward, our strikers seemed to be stood 20 yards deeper than they should've been, so the ball just came straight back. Then when we got the ball into the box, nobody was there to attack it.

And what on earth has happened to our set plays? We used to look so effective from them.

Now in other circumstances that would be a cracking shout. I wished we'd had him months ago. But right now? It would be neither clever nor sensible. We're stuck with what we've got - unless we decide to copy Forest....

Midfield was missing today - right move to drop Harper, but why wasn't Fowler playing? What must he be thinking when a full back gets to play in his position ahead of him?

Harper - excuse for a footballer at the minute I'm afraid.
Martin Woods - not match fit and should have been subbed.

None of tonight was sinclairs fault. Things should have been changed up, not swopping like for like.

Anyhow, on to the next one!  :scarf:

Do you know I really wish that I didn't agree with everything you've written but sadly I do. Please don't forget he was the best of the 10 million applicants though.  :headbang:
I think we've been sold a pup here.

Cheapest option for a board not willing to invest in players or staff? Yes I think so.

Don't find anything inspiring about Brian Flynn, willing to give him benefit of the doubt though. We are carrying injuries, but no excuse for playing players out of position, we have enough in the squad to play a right winger on the right wing rather than up front, Billy Paynter left in the dressing room! there was a lack of direction from the touchline again. Thankfully we have a defence thats solid, but god forbid any get injured.  Use the loan market NOW not later when its far too late and start grabbing anything thats going.... such as sinclair!!!

Most people on here wanted him, no point in using hindsight against him.
People forget are squad is thread bare and today we had 4 or 5 first team starters out the side.
I'd have settled for a point when I saw that lineup,

Not sure about most people on here wanted him, as don't come on too often. But I would say 95% of fans have spoken too (before this bad run) were shocked when he got the job, after JR had stated we had some outstanding applicants!

It was the sensible option until the summer... Past that it's a shocking appointment.

Saunders leaving us is hugely damaging. I said it at the time and was shot down.
I'd still like to know if we had over 100 applicants for the job, how Flynn was ever the best candidate. ££££££ is the answer.

I don't think you were shot down. I remember most people on here being wary that it could unhinge our season.

I don't think it was to do with money... It was to do with stability. The summer will be the best time to get a new manager, so it was sensible.

Continuity was the answer, like was discussed at the time. He's had 5 games and got 7 points, hardly a disaster is it? Plus he's dealing with the biggest injury crisis of the season.
5 games and were writing him off, haven't got a clue what some people have upstairs sometimes

It was common sense but the early signs are he is not the man?
