2 votes for two positions
Friend included, in my opinion played better at Centre back. But will include for Left back vote also
-
Rob Jones?
-
Added! Technical fail...
-
Ask me again in a couple of years and Baudry will hopefully have edged out Mills.
-
Possible, also a few youngsters in and around the team that could make our great 11. Mandeville wouldn't get past Sharp, Bludell, etc. But maybe in a few years
-
Iv gone for khumalo, thought he might get a few more...class!
-
Matt Mills and Rob Jones.
Khumalo was great for us too. Shame he got injured
-
If the poll was for most influential then Rob Jones would have been one of my picks but in terms of being better quality at the higher level then Mills and Shackell for me.

I don't think it should be read in absolute terms - if so there would be no point having anyone other than Mills, Shackell, Khumalo and Friend on there. I read it as who was the best relative to the league we were in at the time. For example, Mcindoe must be a shoe-in for the left wing spot but he never played with us in the Championship.
-
Jimmy O'Connor played a decent amount of games at centre back as well.
-
Shackell and)Khumalo
-
Can't believe so few voted for Steve Foster
-
Are we voting for best two individuals, or should we be thinking about them as a potential team pairing?
-
Loved Albrighton,his passion awesome :scarf:
-
Everyone who has voted and not included Gordon Greer wants to take a long hard look at themselves.
-
I'd vote for Butler but can't see him on the list
No Meite?
-
Gone for Mills and Lee . Mills was a shoe -in but I was right in thinking our old captain would be forgotten - his goal never will be. :)
-
Shakell and Mills are by far and away the best 2 centre backs since the year 2000
They played at championship level and were high quality centre backs at that level.
As good as Foster and Albrighton were at league 2 level they would not ever have been good enough to play in the Championship.
The only ones in that list to get close to Shakell and Mills was Rob Jones. His leadership was outstanding. The other was Khumulo
As for Gordon Greer he was fairly ordinary for us but went on to become a very accomplished centre back after he left us.
-
Yes Graeme Lee was outstanding at League 1 level but his championship days had passed him by when he came to Rovers.
-
There is one centre back that has been missed off that list that should be on it. DAVID WHEATER who was on loan to us from Middlesbrough and was outstanding for us in my opinion.
I said at the time he was with us that he would go on to play for England at full international level. He did get into the England squad briefly but never quite fulfilled his true potential.
-
Just pre 2000 Steve Nicol was one of the finest
-
No Darren Moore?
-
No Darren Moore?
After the yr 2000
-
Mills be far, shackell closely followed by Jones.
I think Baudry could be up there in a few seasons.
-
Shame we could never get Khumalo back due to international clearance
-
Just pre 2000 Steve Nicol was one of the finest
Nicol's one of the top ten players to have ever pulled on a Rovers shirt, in my slightly deluded opinion...
-
Since 2000 - Mills and shackell for sure
