Anderson

i like the look of Anderson, but with McCann playing 4-3-3. will he get in the side before Butler and Wright, or would we be better playing all three with wing backs ?

Wright is our best centre half by a distance. It should be him and one other.

we will see on saturday if a flat back four will be good enough, but i hope McCann will be adaptable, back fours are becoming old fashionable in modern football.

Agree 100% with this. At the moment I think we should start with Wright and Butler

Rotherham last season must have been a one-off then, with Anderson looking magnificent, and Wright looking a liability.

I thought Wright had an excellent game against Rotherham, obviously his error led to their winning penalty but before that he had done very well against probably the toughest assignment of the season for our back line.

Looks like we will play 2 at the back in the middle so having Wright, Butler and Anderson to choose from puts us in areal strong position. Looking good 😃

I thought Anderson was superb at Rotherham, I think we would've won or at least drawn if he hadn't been taken out.

I've not been to a friendly this season but I thought Wright was very raw last season and unnasured with his feet. I'm presuming by the posts on here he has improved and matured?

I thought Wright was one of our players of the year last season

we need to get Wright on a longer contract he is only going to get better, i just think Wright ,Anderson and Butler would be solid.

Am i the only one who thinks we need another centre back? Anderson completely unproven really and have we really replaced Baudry's quality?

Anderson can’t be described as unproven can he? Played a good number of games for us last season ( not sure number without checking) but was never found wanting and he will be pushing Butler and Wright for that starting place.
Dont forget in emergency McCullough can play Centre back and would be good in a 3 centre back line up with wing backs. Comfortable on the ball and can bring it out.

The first half of the season Wright was our best player. He had mistakes here and there but that's what you get with any young player.

Anderson has proven enough to earn a contract and I'm sure most of us wouldn't have any issues if he were to step in for either Butler or Wright.
