Whiteman's goal
« on December 16, 2018, 10:43:41 am by Monkcaster_Rover »
Noticed he ran over to Gerrard and gave him a cuddle as did the rest of the squad when he fired home.

Anyone know as to why? Did see on Liam Hodens Twitter that they stated he had a 'rough week'.

Hope he's ok.

Noticed they all ran over to someone couldn’t make out who it was

On his interview Ben said they went over to Jez because he'd had a hard week.  Was wondering what had happened. Shows how close the squad are.

On the tv programme last night Colin Murray said they did it because Paul Gerrard’s mum had just passed away and they wanted to “give him a hug “ and show their support

Grant McCann says that too in his interview on I Follow. Had only listened to Ben's when I posted  before

Wilks assist seams to be being overlooked when credit is being dished out, he did very well to take a couple of defenders out of the game  on the run and set the shot up.

McCann said on the radio yesterday that they had studied Scunthorpe and had identified that they concede a lot from cut backs from their left back position. He said they'd planned that move all week and he was delighted with the application of the players.

Agreed selby, Wilks is often castigated for shooting rather than looking to play someone in.
He did look as though he had run into a blind alley but had the intelligence to get his head up and set the ball up beautifully for Whiteman to hit on the run.

That's a good point. I think it will be interesting to see how much of a team player Wilks becomes. That's not to say, good strikers will always fancy a go themselves but, for once Wilks took a breath and played a nice ball for Whiteman to run on to. I wouldn't say he's the most intelligent footballer but he's showing signs of learning.

He is a very young man.
He will only get better.
Experience counts for a lot.

Whiteman by the way. Superb - Mr Consistency every week with Butler and obviously Kane.

Tells you a lot about the big difference this season. Too often for the last few years it looked like we didn't know our arse from our elbow positionally, with players drifting out of position, seemingly with no set formation or style of play in mind. That's completely changed this season. I think we all see now what Baldwin meant in that interview when he talked about McCann's meticulous nature and enthusiasm.

Great point.  Whiteman and Kane are keeping Tommy Rowe out, and that speaks volumes for how well they are playing.

Crawford deserves a mention too, thought he played decent on Saturday. Clever player

Good point, Move, and he's another one that seems to have a time machine or something.  One minute he's starting a move off on the edge of our own box, then 2 passes later he's on the end of a cross in the opposition box and I'm thinking how on earth he got from there to there in what seems like 5 or 6 seconds.  I reckon he has a miniature moped in his sock or something.

Grant said in his interview he only took Ali off to give Tommy some minutes
