Saturday`s Attendance
« on September 26, 2011, 11:21:09 am by Filo »
1500 ish up on the last home league attendance and only 102 down on the Forest attendance!

The question is was the crowd figure boosted by the new manager factor or lower prices?

I'd say a combination of both.  Some around the ground were saying they made a last minute decision based on a new manager.  Some also on the way out post match were saying that they'll be back more often now SOD has gone.  For some SOD wasn't popular or exciting and it's hard to disagree.  AS good as SOD's football was at times, it wasn't the most exciting often.

Looking like another poor crowd tomorrow though which is a shame as the lads need our continued support. We'll definitely need it when Leeds bring 4100 over....

Imagine what the crowd would've been if the people of Doncaster had been told about the ticket offer!! ;)

A good point, it makes you wonder how the CEO keeps his job for his failings, everyone else gets the boot for under performing, except him!

There must have been a good 200 people in ticket office queue at 2.55pm. I hope everyone got in ok but I'll be sad to hear if people go fed up and gave it up as a bad job.

You know, now the broom is out at Rovers, perhaps it's not back in its cupboard yet? Perhaps Morris is in its path? IT would be a shame to go to the trouble of waving the broom about if you don't entirely thoroughly sweep all the crap off the floor desn't it?

Every time I see Morris I just get the same feeling as I do around February time when I'm having to walk somewhere and it's raining, and cold, and windy, and I've got the wrong coat on.

I`m sure there was n`t a problem, our CEO has stated that ticket office queue`s are not a problem, surely he`s not wrong, AGAIN!

I have my doubts. When I went to pick my ST up at the beginning of July there was a bloody queue of 7 formed by the time I was called to the window. I'd hate to have been in the queue at 2.55pm on a Saturday matchday though.

There were still loads queueing up for tickets to the Tranmere game on the night.. and that was about 5-10 minutes before kick off.

Saturday was my 2nd home came and iv been to 1 away simply can't afford to come week in week out, but on Saturday even though we didn't play that well it was 1 of the most exciting games iv been to for ages the double substitution really got the crowd going and was nice to see the manager actually wanting to win rather than not wanting to lose. I'm making the effort now to go 2morrow hope more people feel the same

You're right, it is wishful thinking....

But with some of the \"home truths\" that JR has being made aware of, I was hoping that the penny might've dropped in terms of the way the club is run off the pitch!

This. I'd like to scream it from the rooftops. Haha. Also, I think the attendance would have been even higher if the management swap had happened earlier in the week, but thats neither here nor there, as with £15 tickets the place should/could have been full anyway. Another own goal for the marketing dept. Why can't JR and the board see it? Or is it more to do with a limited marketing budget?

That said, it was mentioned on here days after the Brizzle home match. Although it is Doncaster Rovers job, the VSC still had around 4 weeks to sort out flyer distribution...

Ticket Sales 6301 + 2000

Be interesting to see how the winning factor/Saunders factor v Cat 1 prices pan out tonight.

A reasonable estimate that the offer prices brought in an extra 1500 or so. With Hull bringing 2000 - 2500, it could make for a cracking atmosphere so long as we turn out in reasonable numbers.

I hope the win factor compensates for the higher prices. It's going to be a nice evening, so if 8000 plus Rovers fans turn out we'll be looking good.

I would recommend anyone turning up on the night to get their tickets early !!

Doesn't look good for tonight's crowd at all really, very sparse it's gonna be. Not good.

It'll be at least the same as Saturday. The extra Hull contingent will make up for the 1500 extra bums that took advantage of the offers. If a third or more of those come tonight then we could be pushing 10,000.

In old money of course, I'm sure we'd be looking at 12 - 13000 tonight.
