Reminds me when we last sold all the clubs silver. Darren Moore. Colin Cramb.
Something isn't right at DRFC. JR can give us the propaganda but i'm sorry it doesn't wash now and i'm getting pissed off with how the club is being run.

Maybe we are, but if he didn't play for any reason that's for the management. Sharp's likely to go, but given recent performances I don't think that's the biggest worry, SOD left the squad too reliant on him and that has to change.
Title: Re: Billy's going.
Post by: VikingJames on October 29, 2011, 05:09:21 pm
If he handed in a transfer request, it doesn't mean he can then be absent from training and matches.

I'm finding it hard to believe that somebody with Billy's love of playing football would walk away from the club and refuse to train and play, even if he isn't happy. Surely he'd just ask to go in January?

A little note, when i took part in the stadium tour before the game today, Sharps shirt was hung up with his boots underneath like normal. Were the squad expecting him and he has had to stay off for this family reason. A bit of an odd one..

Billy did not train on Monday, but so did a lot of players who played last weekend, he did not train Thursday and Friday. This does not mean he is leaving, there could be family reasons for his absent. So we should not jump to conclusions. It's not fair on the club or him. Let's wait and see what happens.

Post by: StocksArmy on October 29, 2011, 05:28:59 pm
DRFC Official has just tweeted that Billy missed the game for family reasons so if he was going or handed in a transfer request why would the club keep this from us? If he had not trained all week why hasn't anything been said in the pre match build up, papers etc? Quite frankly if he goes im not bothered if we go down im not bothered but we need to start again because what we have just paid our good money to watch was not good and I can honestly say in my opinion there was not 1 player on that pitch good enough to grace this league and its obvious we need a massive clear out. I just hope the only player they leave is Bennett because he is the only exciting prospect.

Dean Saunders has said that it is a serious family problem. I don't think he (or anyone) would be lying about that for the sake of keeping a transfer secret for a matter of days.

From what i have heard it is a Real Family Issue, not prepared to say what, but if it is then we need to support the lad in this difficult time.
He will be back very soon i imagine

Correct. JR confirmed the 'family issues' to me yesterday. Lets calm down on here eh?
Everyone seems so eager to plant another 'We're doomed' type of post.
Its getting suicidal  - we need to lighten up and sort out facts from 'my mates uncle's cousins neighbour knows for a fact stuff'......

The fact is he may go if the right offer is there. NOTHING JR could say would help ease rumours and worries about that - 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' applies. At this time JR is wise to stay as much as possible with the facts as well as describing the plans of the club as it is today. He did that clearly enough IMO.

Whatever his personal reasons are (and I don`t know them) it`s not appropriate to post them on a public forum, be it the truth or speculation, thats why they are personal! for that reason i`m going to edit your post!

************************** I'd be surprised if he went to Southampton, as he doesn't want to move from the North.

EDIT! For the same reasons outlined to Donnyjim, personal issues should remain personal issues until such time as the individual chooses to make them public, and for your information I do NOT know if what you said or not is true. Just respect the lads privacy!

In theory, of course, you are right, but to an extent he is in the public eye and therefore people will want to know.

Replace \"Billy Sharp\" with \"Wayne Rooney\" and you'll see what I'm getting at.

And before you ask, I personally do not feel the need to know- but others will.
Title: Re: Billy's going.
Post by: big fat yorkshire pudding on October 31, 2011, 10:51:16 am
TRB I see exactly what you're saying.  I think it's a bit different when Rooney etc flaunt their lives in public, but when they keep them quiet as Sharp etc does, I don't think it's any of anyones business.

Seems to be far too much mischief going on at the moment, I heard everything from family issues, to illness, to being at Ipswich (they weren't even at home) to having refused to ever play for the manager again.  That kind of stuff is mischevious and helps nobody.  If the lad's got personal problems let's hope he'll be feeling the love again from the 10,000 Doncaster people who love him to bits.....

I think you`ll find they are breaking employment law if the insist you take annual leave, what happens if you`ve used up all your annual leave, they are obliged to let you take unpaid leave!

In many cases you have the right to take time off work to deal with an emergency involving someone who depends on you (sometimes called compassionate leave). You can’t be penalised by your employer for taking the time off, providing your reasons for taking it are genuine.

In fairness, looking through it the majority of the posts were that personal issues should be left at that.  But I don't really think we need to have these kind of arguments, it's just petty and pointless, the most important thing is to get behind the lad when he returns to the pitch in the future.
Title: Re: Billy's going.
Post by: jonnydog on November 01, 2011, 03:59:57 pm
I see your point, but I stick by my original suggestion. The last thing we want is Billy or anyone connected to his family assuming that a small portion of nob-heads on this site represent us all.

The whole thing should just be forgotten about, those who posted know who they are and will feel (I hope) bad enough. Then their would be no disrespect shown and Billy/family can get on with the hard job they've got to do.

Pleas Admin/Mods, consider the majortiy and remove this thread.
