For those that were not there
« on March 22, 2022, 09:47:34 am by selby »
The meet the coaches evening was very good, very informative and an open and frank replies to the audiences questions.
I am sure quite a few people who did not attend would have been impressed by the way it was conducted, the enthusiasm of the questions put to the coaches and the background information they gave in their answers and to their own jobs at the club.

Did anyone ask GM about his strange interview post match Saturday, and did anyone ask them why we are shit?

Maybe so, sometimes work gets in the way of things, but thanks for your input!

Yes Filo, but probably not in such explicit language, and he did answer  the question well.

What did he say then, Brian, in answering well, to justify one of the worst performing teams in Rovers' history?

He is learning every aspect of the job including dealing with the press. He seems very calm and measured with that part of the job.
He has made mistakes in all aspects of the job so far, but he has also made very good tactical decisions at times.

I would love him to keep us up. There is no doubt in my mind he will be working as hard as he can on trying to do that.
He took the job knowing the funding wasn’t massive, he had half a squad injured and a team devoid of confidence.

He has improved confidence. He hasn’t recruited too bad but we needed one or two experienced heads even after Clayton was brought in. Central defence was the main area in need. We just need some consistency and players who start taking responsibility for being the one who changes the game.

The coaches may have answered the questions well but their coaching is not working performances are awful. We are not scoring goals. There is no improvement in the team or squad. Players confidence still low and body language poor. So they can talk the talk it’s time we showed we can walk the walk.

So, if the funding wasn't massive why do you suppose he spread it so thin by signing eight in the January window?  The quality it provided hasn't produced anything like the improvement required.
