McCann says he is out until January 2025.

You read that correctly.

Off into the Twilight Zone of our treatment room he goes, then. Wonder if we'll see him in a Rovers shirt again, or if this is another Fej situation.

If he's out for a year can't see him playing here you'd have thought we'd have built our squad for next season

Absolutely unbelievable and gutting for everyone.
I really rate him, he’s going to have his work cut out with only 0.5 years left when he gets back.

I did sort of fear for the worst with George.

That sounds like a further op on the horizon if January 2025 before any potential comeback is being mooted.

I hope nothing but the very best for the lad.

Westbrooke back next month.

This is the silver lining I’m looking at. When a player gets injured my baseline expectation is a season-ender so having Westbrooke back earlier is great news!

This is only the first mention of his return.  How many iterations will it take before we see him kick a ball?

How many Dr. Deaths has he been to see?

He must have shot a whole flock of Robins!

What a shame for the lad, and us.

We are cursed with key players getting injured.
More money being spent on wages with zero return.
Gutting for George and the club.

As mentioned above, you would assume that like Fejiri and the second Taylor injury, the rehab or treatment wasn’t right and they lapsed.

This has been far too commonplace at the Rovers in recent years.  Position in the league isn't only dependent on the abilities of Manager and players, the whole management structure has to be top notch to give you a chance of being competitive.
Hopefully with the recent introduction of the new head of physio things will improve in that department.

It appears the new head of medical is having some impact, with the recent news on Anderson, Wood, Maxwell, Sterry and Senior.

It’s a shame, though, that his involvement has also (perhaps) led to us looking more deeply into Lavery & George’s injury situations.

How curious that lightening doesn't just strike twice, but three times - at the same club - and all within a couple of years. Must just be a coincidence.

Yet another player who is taking much longer to recover than we would expect.
It has to be more than bad luck surely.
Let’s hope David Rennie sorts out the medical dept because this injury situation has to improve at the club.

No one gets injured on purpose so it must be gutting for George Miller. Any player worth his salt wants to play week in week out.

Good luck George with your rehab.

I would guess it’s a knee cartilage issue maybe on top of ligament injury based on recurrent swelling even after multiple surgeries.

I wonder how much damage was done in the Hull league cup game. It’s a shame because he was terrific that night and would have been a better player this season with Ironside to play off.

We will need a permanent striker in the summer then. Even when he’s back, we can’t count on him being the same player after such a long lay-off I’m afraid.

Good luck George.

Absolutely gutted for the lad, unbelievable long term injuries this club has had over recent seasons. Was really looking forward to seeing George $ Joe Ironside together. George looked brilliant at Hull, massive shame for all concerned. Good luck George.

We really are a charity for injured players. We haven’t got the resources for this to keep happening every season.

Devastating for everyone. Too complex for anyone to be apportioning blame, we have to let the professionals deal with that. We just don't know if it's a result of the original surgery or the recovery & rehabilitation etc., but that seems a hell of a long time for any injury.

What do you suggest? We euthanise players when they get a knock?

Maybe we need to make an offering to the gods to exorcise this curse?

Which player should we put up for sacrifice?

Instead of that perhaps we could make sure our medical staff do their jobs properly.

George has seen at least two consultants he has had two operations already
If he’s not going to be ready for another 10 months then what have they been doing.

As far as I’m away the club doesn’t choose the consultants, there are certain ones they have to use.

Having a “knock” and being out for a season and a half are very different things.
How’s about a long term injury clause written into contracts?
