Parkin NOT signed
« on September 20, 2011, 01:32:00 pm by Chris Black come back »
YET, according to Rob Staton, BBC Sport:

@robstaton
Rob Staton Doncaster Rovers haven't signed Jon Parkin. Early discussions only so far. If a deal is completed it's unlikely to be done today. #drfc

It's usually the other way round, isn't it?

A player signs, plays, gets injured, spends six months recovering and then it's mentioned on DROS.

Let's hope this hasn't blown the lid too early and he gets taken elsewhere.

At the bottom of the page it did say...

\"Jon will wear the number shirt during...\"

I thought it was strange then, cos it's not like DROS to make a simple error like that!! :dry:

No, it's a kitchen/larder extension to store the pies for Parkin

Says we HOPE to sign him before Saturdays match. Why would they put it on the official website until the deal was done?
Hardly gonna be match-fit to run his bollox off playing the lone striker role is he?

I'll be honest.. I think I might have died a little inside reading this story.. Great bloke and his banter is top class.. great with the fans too.. Definite cult hero on the Ninian..

He has shown at Preston what he could do when playing on a regular basis and his debut goal against Norwich was an absolute belter!

All the very best of luck to him and i'm sure with the playing time he'll be back to scoring before too long. And if rumours regarding his wages are to be believed that's 36k over a month freed up..

BEEEEEEAASSSST!
