A quality performance here from our old boy esp that strong hand at 20 secs, the pen save at 2.15 not bad either.

He looks like he has filled out and some good saves to push the ball away

Apparently there was a delegation from Wigan Athletic in the Directors' Box at this game and they were very impressed with Maxted. They had also been at the home game at Guiseley.

Maybe his career is about to take an upward turn?

Shame his agent advised him to leave when he did really.

But then he may have not turned out the same way without the game time he'll be getting.

Suppose when theres only 92 first team goalkeeping positions up for grabs in the league its maybe a no brainer taking one step back for first team game time

Well done to him

That added to the fact keepers very rarely peak at a young age. It's tough for a young keeper to make it these days in the Football League so a lot of good young keepers are out there down in the lower leagues. Were we not in the Championship when he was at the club?

As soon as a number 1 gets injured 99% of the time a club will bring in a older head on loan or free transfer.

That being said, he's clearly grown up and put the effort in and it's paying off for him!

He left when we dropped into League One under Saunders, who (along with Flynn) gave Woods a lot of game time. Might've gotten a chance if he'd stayed as Sulli wasn't even considered until the run-in.

He left just before the 2014-15 season. I think he had a fall-out with Dickov.

If Gary Woods got picked ahead of you then it really was time to move on.
