Two changes from Saturday - Sims & Smith in for James & Copps. I’m pleased to see Sims start but disappointed to see James out - he was excellent on Saturday and I’d rather he was dropped back to left back rather than the bench.
Looking forward to the game, hope we pick up where we left off on Saturday!

Tonight’s team
COYR

Come on you Reds :scarf:
-
So does DM see Cam John as a better left back than Reece James?
-
So does DM see Cam John as a better left back than Reece James?
if he does, then he's in a group of one!
-
I'm a massive fan of Darren as I'm sure virtually all of us are. In respect of Cameron John being a better left back I think his eyes are painted on.
-
No I don’t think he does, but isn’t James just returning from injury.? Also he may have picked his 11 with an eye to Ipswich’s players..
We’ll soon find out..
-
James should have kept his position he played Saturday. Sims in for Taylor and Richards For Gomes. Will the real Okenabirhie turn up tonight.
-
We need to get used to the idea that Darren picks teams to combat opponents and often will ignore form or things that teams are typically picked on. James was excellent on Saturday and I have no doubt that Darren knows that, he and Reece will have discussed it and the reasons for the team selection will have been laid out.
-
Also!
You still have time to read the ITEN Match Preview ahead of tonight's game: https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/league-one-match-preview-ipswich-h (https://www.intotheemptynet.com/post/league-one-match-preview-ipswich-h)

Do you mean his injury pre-season? He’s started every league game so I don’t think it’s that. It might be a tactical pick for a bit more height at the back, and to be fair John had a good game at LB on Saturday, but there’s no doubt to me that DM sees a different player at LB than the rest of us have seen so far.
-
That will teach him to score the winning goal.
Blooming young upstart.
-
Come on Rovers. I've got 4 Ipswich supporting workmates & it will make going in a lot easier tomorrow if we can beat them 😀
-
Yes Nick.. there’s always a possibility DM thinks he may need a rest.? I dunno, but with 10 points from our first 5 games the manager is doing something right.. perhaps we will find out his reasons afterwards or even during commentary.?
-
Pompey 2 up against Gillingham - Marquis got one...
-
Evening all, looking forward to this game
-
Bugger.. unfortunate OG by Wright..
-
The camera could do with panning back a bit - it’s moving around too much..
-
Work to do now.
-
Need to get back into this quick the longer we stay behind the harder it becomes
-
Really poor own goal for me that - the positioning from our defence (mostly because there’s no protection from midfield) lets them completely open us up. Would like to see it again but think Wright could have done better with it as well - often with own goals you think there’s nothing they could do about it but didn’t look that way to me with this one.

Agree 100% I reckon Bursik might have even got to it
-
Should have equalised then..
-
Their keeper looks a bit suspect when kicking.
Sims should have done far better.
-
How many chances did we need then just shoot at the player on the line handles it and it’s a booking at least and a penalty
-
We're not creating an extra man in midfield. Full backs being cautious to start with. Smith not making space and offering himself enough.
No composure there with that gifted chance!
-
Missing James making the forward runs and not enough pressure on the keeper or back four
-
Deffo. Smith being very rigid in his positioning.
-
1:1
-
Get in.!!! Great goal by John.!!
-
We got lucky there.
-
Great finish by Cam.
-
What a finish from Cam there
-
Better forward passing thank god for that
Well done Cameron
-
Perhaps that is why DM played him......
-
That's an amazing play from a defender in fairness.
-
Well taken goal, we’ve started to take it up a notch so hopefully we can push on from here!
-
On his wrong foot too..
-
John buying the foul there
-
Good effort by Madger.
-
2:1
-
2-1
-
Woooohoo.
-
Benjamin
-
Whiteman’s chip into the box after a short corner is missed by everyone and reaches the corner of the net..
-
Maybe it’s not up to Smith to get forward!
-
This could easily end up 3-3..
-
So close after 2-1 to make it 3-1
Still dangerous score need the next goal
-
Enjoyable match so far, think we've played well.
-
HT 2-1 but we have scored all 3 haha
-
good confident play, gave the ball away a bit too much but have settle into and imposed themselves
-
A good first half, Bursik needs to do better with his distribution, not sure why Madger is partnering Ben when we have Smith as a natural holding player
-
Sims and Smith still getting acclimatised so to say we've been patchy, very happy with the score.
We've got good options on the bench so no excuses to give it everything and work hard against this we'll drilled team.
-
Delighted with the ht score.. I still don’t think we are quite “there” with the play in general - Whiteman is having a great game although quite deep - in my opinion we need a central attacking midfielder to hold everything together. Most of our play uses the width and we are doing that well, but I can see Copps coming on for the last 25 mins or so in that central slot to control our play further upfield..
Ipswich look dangerous on the break and we must not get complacent as they have goals in their side too.
I will be ecstatic if his were to finish 2-1 but I don’t think that the scoring is finished yet..
No yellow cards too, gives you an idea of the display by both sides in an even toughly fought match so far.
-
Ipswich have looked handy too. can play it on the turf and when they've lumped it up their front men are winning flick headers which seem always to go straight to their man.
-
Two good sides out there tonight.
-
Good game, both teams up for it.am I being sentimental Nice to see ground and even my seat.
-
All the other big names in the division are currently winning, this is not a night to drop points..
-
Need the win to keep the pressure on the teams above
-
Back out no chances either team
-

To be fair I do need my eyes testing.
-
Got away with one there - poor ball out from Bursik and Ipswich attack at pace but Bursik makes amends with a decent save.
-
Should have been 3! Sims with just the keeper to beat and drags it wide of the far post
-
Sims again should have done better there.
-
Started very end to end we need the 3rd
-
Fejiri doing much better
-
Few having a really good game.
-
Pen.
-
Get in
-
3 -1
-
Great pen.
-
Great pen by Ben.! Good pace from Sims to get behind his man in the first place..
-
4:1
-
It's 4
-
Get in.
-
4-1..
Fej - great strike after an Ipswich defensive mistake...
-
What was I saying about their keepers poor distribution.
-
La la la la la la opooooh
-
Is it the time to bring Copps on to control the rest of this fixture..?
-
Not with the way we're playing. Change nothing.
-
How the fudge have we got Sims what a player
-
Get in! Hopefully feji can get on a run now. We've been sharing the goals about nicely but always good to have a centre forward getting in form
-
James should have kept his position he played Saturday. Sims in for Taylor and Richards For Gomes. Will the real Okenabirhie turn up tonight.
What do you reckon?
-
9 different goal scores this season so far
-
How the fudge have we got Sims what a player
Yup, going to be a big player for us over the next few months if this is anything to go by.
-
Wow!

We’ve got lots of fixtures coming up.. bringing Copps on is hardly a negative move is it, specially at 4-1 up against a team like Ipswich.?
-
Second half has been outstanding all round.
-
Two good halves in one game by us.
-
Gutted that I wimped out of putting on a few bob on the boys pre-season.
This is a performance that's going to make every other team in L1 take notice.
-
How the fudge have we got Sims what a player
3 assists and a penalty win in about 95 mins for us so far.
-
Yeah might stick my neck out on this, and say he's a buyer!!!!! a perfect Copps replacement for when that day comes.
-
amazing - really enjoying this.

Send the goalie back to Stoke, play LJ and see if we can afford Simms for the rest of the season......
-
I wasn’t sure about Smith at first but he will be very much a Sheaf player... Does the things that go un-noticed
-
If there is any chance of getting Sims longer we must
-
Really pleased for Fej... I thought DM made a huge mistake in almost snubbing his preseason form, and totally deflated him, our asset - you can't argue with results though.
-
Worst performance tonight by some distance is the camera man! Hope that gets sorted out before the next home game, not great when people are paying for this.
-
Need Wimbledon and Wigan to both get back to a draw
-
and crewe
-
Have to say Ipswich have disappointed in this second half..
-
Need Wimbledon and Wigan to both get back to a draw
Why.? We have 40 more league fixtures after this one.!
-
Reckon we have a shout at getting Sims for the season but not permanently. He's a cut above any player I've seen at this level. He reminds me of McIndoe in div 3 - just far, far too good for the level he's playing at, but he isn't complacent at all. What a player.

Ready for the points per game just incase
-
Pompey 2 up against Gillingham - Marquis got one...
In other ex-Rovers related news. James Husband sent off after 2 mins !
Nathan Tyson off after 6 mins for Chesterfield (injury I presume) & Watters scores for Crawley.
-
Watters scores for Crawley.
Of course he did! :boxing:
-
Sooooo peed off I was busy earlier! Sounds like a statement result, and performance?

Sign him permanently when were promoted at the end of the season. :D

Fantastic result against one of the teams tipped for promotion!

Great victory.
Another 4-1 win.
-

I would say there is still some way to go to be at our absolute best, but we deserved this result through hard work throughout the game and taking chances..
Great win.. next.!!
-
Complete performance.
-
Plenty of effort tonight from all the players, but if I had to pick, my MotM would be Ben.
-
We were good and pressed hard all game, but far from perfect, you can see this team has sooooo much more. I was seriously annoyed at the beginning of the second half, it was being played like an end of season game with nothing hanging on it. They were there for the taking today, and whilst we did score a few, it could and should have been more.
-
Ipswich hardly had a good shot on goal, great defending
-
Great squad team performance Okenabirhie best game. Well done DM and the players
-
Crewe will be a tough game held Sunderland to a 1-0 at Sunderland
-
Crewe will be a tough game held Sunderland to a 1-0 at Sunderland
Sounds like they set up for a draw - they only managed 4 shots and only one on target...
-
Crewe will be a tough game held Sunderland to a 1-0 at Sunderland
Crewe shared possession but Sunderland had 21 shots against four by Crewe.
I think Crewe will come and sit back against us.
I would take a 1-0 win.
-
Thanks guys didn't look to much past the score.
Think we need to score early and try and force them out
-
Sims is on £17,000 per week at Southampton.
