Mandeville

Yet to go to either of the games this season, so just wondering how this lad has done when he's come on.

He always seems to have a mixed reception. Some fans think he's terrible, where as other think he's technically decent and just lightweight at the moment. I personally think he's the most talented out of the lads we've developed. Much more potential than Middleton who won't make it higher up the leagues.

Not good Saturday?
He had an instant impact when he came on and set up the equaliser, and scored last night.
Potentially he's one of the best youngsters we've had in recent years.

Longbottom looks like he could be decent too. I'd like to see what this Beestin kid is like too.

Was told a number of years ago, when all the talk was about Jack McKay, that Liam was the one to watch.

Jack was more of a goalscorer which meant he got talked about. His brother Paul looked the better of the two and would have been good with the defender and midfielder crisis.

we need to keep behind our youngsters when they are playing, getting on their backs wont achieve anything and Middleton although not playing well at the moment could well come good,

Liam is one of those deceptive players, looks a bit scruffy but has some intelligence about him. Not blessed with great pace but can poke a ball past his marker when it looks lost.

He works hard, looks like he's knackered but keeps going. Can pick a pass, is progressive and will turn up in scoring positions.

On the downside, he's not got the stature or pace for an out and out striker but he put Middleton to shame last night with his willingness to move, find space and get stuck in. Occasionally gets knocked off the ball but generally gets back up and has another go!

Middleton is 21 and has two years on Mandeville, he should really be staking his place this season if he is to make it with us. He can't be cuddled and a passenger anymore.

You could have been describing a young Paul Green there?

Tell you what......

when he gets the ball and runs with it..

he reminds me of a young (very young) Alan Warboys..now that would be good :chair: :chair: :chair: :chair:

I think midfield is more likely to be his future and who knows where else if he develops physically. I don't think you're far wrong and that's why I think DF will be patient with him and keep giving him game time.

Thought he did well yesterday. Good movement and some decent passes.
