Rovers TV Coverage for Overseas Fans
« on August 10, 2021, 02:30:38 pm by AlonzoDrake »
For the last few years it's been great following Rovers from overseas on ifollow, and also over time it has been rewarding witnessing how ifollow's coverage has so greatly improved -- that first season of live coverage for we overseas subscribers had no commentary I recall. I've subscribed once more, and am looking forward to the new season so much. However, I've just noted that tonight's cup game at Walsall is not being televised -- nor I think are certain others. Could any fellow Rovers exiles living in the US who subscribe to ifollow please explain what matches we'll be able to watch this season? -- I just can't work out what's available and what isn't, and am seeing conflicting information. Often, a good back up for US-based Rovers fans unable to watch certain ifollow games here in the American colonies is the ESPN + channel. Thanks in advance

Hi, Alonzo.

According to the iFollow website, all EFL League 1 games will be broadcast internationally this season, apart from any game that is shown live by a main broadcaster. Papa John Trophy matches will also be broadcast, but there will be no coverage of Carabao Cup matches, or FA Cup matches.

I hope that helps, mate.

This fantastic news I'd settled for just audio this season but to hear I have these games available has just made day.
Brilliant

Just such a shame for me that Northern Ireland, despite the water and the brand new 'Boris Border', does not count as overseas  :(

Amazing really.

Despite the plethora of entertainment and sporting options available, there will be people in America tuning in to watch a Div 3 fixture of Rovers v Morecambe.

It wouldn't be right if I said you could use a VPN, so I better not say it!

Obviously I would never get VPN but if someone did are there any issues trying to pay the money out of a UK bank account?

You will be able to watch the midweek games though if I've read it correctly.

Those who want to try a VPN do not need to pay, you can try a free version.

Some are better than others, and free versions will be basic without the bells and whistles.
This one is fine and secure;

Other providers offer different packages for specific platforms.

I could hardly recommend a VPN, but if somebody did want a paid one with bells and whlstles and a shed load of locations all over the planet, then ExpressVPN is clearly a terrible thing to buy. I've bought it for 4 years now.....

Thanks Bob. I'm sure you don't use it to watch Rovers play but if you did do you use a UK bank card to pay or some other method?

On Saturday, using a VPN, I was logged out every 10 minutes or so with an error message about not having the rights to view this stream . It then came back on when I signed out and in again. Anyone have an answer for avoiding this please?

and i "won't mention" private "zoom calls"   suddenly our overseas fans could become very popular.

Thanks Anton, I am using Nord and have paid  for it as well. Might just be a Chromebook thing.
