Seems a mad decision on the surface. He'd got them back to being a credible top-end Championship side, unless something has gone on behind the scenes and they have a bigger name lined up.

It won’t happen Grants already been sacked twice since he last departed. Once by the current Hull chairman and once by the Irish egomaniac. I think he now realises the grass isn’t greener elsewhere.

Alex Rae and Paul Heckingbottom the early favourites at 6/1. McCann is on there at 16/1. Can't see it myself, they'll have got rid of Rosenior to get a bigger name to take them to the next level.

They’ve sacked one of the best young English managers out there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Darren Moore’s ears have pricked up.

McCann was born in the UK.

Depends on your persuasion. I know a lad who's childhood home is a stones throw from Grants and he was born in Ireland.

I would imagine his stock has plummeted!

The reason some of those other lads have been so unhappy the last 100 years is precisely because they are part of the UK. Many undoubtedly don’t like it but it’s a fact until it stops being a fact. Perhaps in our lifetime. Who knows.

He is. They're very proud of him up there, him and David Healy have a mural along Sandy Row.

Sandy Row used to be the heartland of the Ulster Freedom Fighters and the community has done alot to improve it's image over the last few years, and the mural of out manager is part of that. I was in Belfast last year staying in the Holiday Inn at the top of Sandy row, and got sent down it for a cracking chippy. Wouldn't have fancied that a few years ago.
