I remember last year's supporter's club week-end away at Yarmouth. We had just left Yarmouth for Ipswich when Harry rang Len to say that they had left someone at the services near Peterborough. Len was busy ringing Paul and trying to arrange some way of getting this supporter to the match. Gradually Len started to smell a rat and wasn't best pleased when Harry came clean.
When we arrived in Ipswich Harry's bus was already there and he'd got out of the way sharpish.
I think that Len bollocked him in the ground and on the phone, happy days.
Things like this put a lot of the petty arguements on here into perspective, life's to be enjoyed as much as possible.
Like the salesman say; \"Once it's gone it's gone\"
-
Harry's had more posts than \"Hayter's returning\" thread
Therefore either Harry was a top top man or Hayter hasnt been missed
I cant make my mind up

RIP Harry, God be with you and your family.

I went through school with Harry and we have known each other for over60 years, I am in my 61st season at Rovers so I reckon between us we have done well over 100.
It is a sad day for me and more so for his family.
God bless you my old mate, I am sure you will be looking down on us for seasons to come. Once a Rover always a Rover

Sorry to hear this too, he put a lot of work into the club. RIP Harry and condolences to all of his family and friends.

An absolute gent even after he had his amputation, he had the most positive attitude regarding his health I have ever known anybody to have. He will be surly missed by everyone that knew him. My thoughts go out to his dear wife and all his family. RIP Harry Bacon
-
Rest in peace Harry.
Edit: I didn't know Harry, however, did he run for VSC Chairman after Andy Liney?
