. Seen as Beye hadn't turned up for pre season I think this makes sense, as said its a shame as he would be a great CH in Lg1

Good. We need to sign a centre half in his prime, not some washed up player like Beye who was good a few years ago but is now well past his sell by date.

Glad he has gone or not even turned up.
Dived in at the wrong time and lost his head too many times to be reliant upon.
Lets hope we can get a decent defensive duo in

I'd settle for a half decent defensive duo, which would be a huge improvement from the Laurel and Hardy show we've been 'treated' to for pretty much the last two seasons.

He's gone by mutual consent, so I hope we havn'd paid him off, otherwise he's really took us to the cleaners.  :suicide:

I'm not saying your wrong SM, you will be more in the know than I am, however when a player's contract is cancelled by mutual consent, the club pays out the remainder of the contract or a fraction of it. Would Beye walk away with no compensation? I don't know.

We haven't paid him off.
I take that as a 'definite' then. If so good, another mercenary off the books. Still concerned that Saunders states we need to get another two players off the books before he can bring in any more. What a bleedin' state.

Well yes he would walk away considering it's him who wants to leave and not us wanting him to go, by not being at training he'd be in breach of contract you would think.

I would've thought mutual consent means that an agreement between the two parties was made, if both parties agree on no compensation then we might not have paid any.

It benefits Beye to be released because to find another club he wants to play for.

Absolutely. He gets a nice pay off (even if only 25% of his contract value for instance) and then gets to sign a nice new contract with a new club, closer to home/at higher level. Great deal for the lad!

Mutual consent means that some extra-contractual agreement was reached between the parties.  It does not by necessity mean that he got a pay off; it could just as easily mean that he gets nothing and also forfeits his (contracted) wages for the days he never turned up.  silent_majority says we haven't paid him off and I believe him.

Good Beye to bad rubbish!
Hope we can put his 2k (ahem) a week to good use on a player that actually wants to a part of the club.

He had a release clause if we got relegated which meant his contract became invalid.
Saunders probably tried to get him to stay and that was the discussions they had. But we won't have paid him any money as it was his decision. Why would we pay him off??
