Maybe he said "I'll think it over" but I would guess that Boro would have been looking for a quick yes or no and are unlikely to maintain their interest. Seems odd that he hasn't been to see Ipswich but maybe their interest is paper talk at this stage. We know from last season how Mr Jewell liked to get the local press to sound out his transfer targets for him!

One thing that did amuse me was the suggestion in the Donny Star that George might choose Ipswich because it is nearer to his family home in Devon than Middlesbrough is. OK, as the crow flies I'm sure it is, but have you ever tried getting to and from Suffolk from just about anywhere?

Just as well Benaldo isn't with us, or he'd be telling us how wonderful Ipswich is and that is isn't a backwater!

Why did you expect a signing Monday?. All Saunders said was that he was hoping to sign someone and is expecting an answer Monday. He didn't say he expected him to sign Monday or even sign at all, he'd just talked with him and hoped. That answer may still have not arrived yet for all we know. It also depended on the Friend situation which is not resolved yet.
