Non-League Daily are reporting that Rovers are taking 16-year-old winger Kyle Campbell on trial from Buxton. He's the son of Kevin Campbell, one-time destroyer of Rovers in the Youth Cup Final many years ago. Also the younger brother of Stoke's Tyrese Campbell.
Don't we have players we loan out to Buxton? Might be how we've come across this lad. Always good to see us actively looking to strengthen the development squad like this.

Could also be our new head of recruitment had an eye on him from his last gig.

Wouldn't surprise me as Tyrese was on loan at Shrewsbury last season.

Good to see us building a youth set up.

Hopefully he will be as good as his dad
Obviously one for the future
I’d much rather hear news about signing a first team striker ready to go

The lad has also spent time in the Shrewsbury youth team

Indeed but there’s a few weeks before that would be possible..

Was he the lad who played against Grimsby reserves on Tuesday?

So long as not related to Neil Campbell then he is welcome here.
-
I hope he does well but a 16 year old having that many clubs - including not making at Macclesfield - doesn't sound very promising.
